Printing the Appraisal

Do not print the appraisal or insurance documents…unless they pay you additional fee. Neither the appraisal report nor the insurance are necessary for the notary to conduct the notarization.

I don’t think we should refuse to print part of a package without express permission. It’s probably why I now get instructions that say don’t delete anything from the package you must return all pages.

Or Instructions that say “there are no duplicate forms in the package do not leave anything out” because apparently some notaries weren’t aware that if it’s in there they want it signed even if it’s 4 Closing Disclosures like a package I did yesterday. While I would ask a signer if they received an appraisal and exclude it from their copy, I would not arbitrarily decide not to include it in what goes back. When something is over 200 pages I can usually get a fee added for that. So I don’t care what I’m printing if I get paid a fair price to print it all. We shouldn’t encourage new notaries to make decisions such as do not print it. JMO.

I agree about printing appraisal; however, in the past when I did signings I had many signings where borrowers had to “Initial” copies of their insurance docs along with a copy of the survey and some other things. I agree with johnsonps306 - without specific instruction or authorization to do so, you need to print everything

This here. Why would I go through a docu,ent and cherry pick what to print? Very wasteful of my time. I print the first set and prep the notary blocks as far as venue and dates/names if need be while the 2nd set prints and while doing so draft the electronic journal so it’s ready when I get to the signing location.
