Today, I had an IPEN assignment, where I was working with a highly educated individual. I love this business! Where else can you make $250 in less than a hour? Today, I had a particularly efficient signing assignment where I encountered a highly personable and driven individual, and I wanted to share the experience. It’s those unexpected encounters that make this profession so rewarding. During this particular signing, I quickly realized that the signer was highly capable and self-sufficient; my role essentially became one of facilitating the process rather than actively guiding it. From the moment I handed over the tablet for the initial check-in procedure, the signer took charge, progressing through each document with remarkable speed and attention to detail, all without requiring any input or direction from me. In fact, I had to deliberately moderate the pace to ensure the accurate completion of the required notarial verbiage for the four notarization acts involved. To provide some context, I departed my residence at precisely 7:45 AM, the commute took approximately 24 minutes, and I concluded the signing at the signer’s residence around 8:45 AM. While I understand that not every signing unfolds with such seamless efficiency, the consistent opportunity to interact with such a diverse array of interesting and engaging individuals is, without a doubt, one of the most appealing aspects of this line of work.
This is impressive, well done on the signer and your part. How did you get this IPEN job? I’ve been considering getting that certification but wasn’t sure how to go about getting that type of work.
@tlbennett0 My IPEN training certification was provided by the company. Additionally, I am commissioned in Florida for Remote Online Notarization (RON). Please consult your state for specific guidance.
Become a plumber. They make a killing.
LOL, okay, plumbers are skilled craftmen/women there’s a difference between being a Notary Public/Loan Signing Agent.
I’d never be a plumber. It’s such a dirty job (or can be). At least as signing agents, we don’t get our hands dirty (LOL).
It definitely depends on the signing environment!
Well, there are hoarder houses, but that’s still not as bad as being a plumber and having to crawl underneath the house.
Totally agree with you on that point. That’s why I am a LSA….![]()
Hello
I like the post about we as our brothers keeper should all stick together and stop excepting low ball assignments. Wait it out until the price is worth our time. Its beginning to be not worth it anymore. Notaries please ! please ! lets stand together and get the price we are worth.
Sincerely
Our fees are essentially unchanged for at least the last 10 years. Name me one other business where this is the case.
