Refinance Lie it's a Reverse Mortgage - Loan Closers

So On yesterday, I was call by a company offering me a closing for 85.00. Times are hard so I excepted. I ask the personnel at the company what type of closing was it. it’s a Refinance, okay. it’s 6 miles away from your house, okay. I get home… It’s a reverse mortgage with 351 pages. Hold up… and then I check the miles. It was 20 miles away and they needed it asap…I call them back and no matter how much they offer I could do it. Because, they started out with a bunch of lies.

Way to go. They knew better; just didn’t DO better.

My $.02 FWIW

For future reference - technically, it is considered a refi - any loan taken on property already owned by someone is considered a “refi” - it’s not a purchase loan.

But still - 351 pages? Of WHAT for God’s sake?? I’d like to think that was two copies of the entire package in one email so you don’t have to print twice but somehow I don’t think it was. Too bad you couldn’t do it anyway - I would have asked for a considerable fee for this one.

What company was this?

This company I will not reveal the name, because at one time they were paying good. It just here lately that have been playing a lot of game. The last one I did before this one was in spring when they said humble. the fees where to low for spring. just have to be watchful of everything.

That’s too bad … without calling them out they can continue to do this to you and every notary who works for them. Good companies go bad … and we, your fellow notaries, won’t know who they are without people speaking out and taking a stand.

But, hey, if you want to be a part of the problem and not the solution…well…so be it.

Linda’s right. If you’re not part of the solution… Sorry, but not sorry.
Another thing… what are you afraid of… this twice in one year co. won’t call you again?
And… if they did, after pulling this stunt, you want them to???** The only weapon we have to keep companies from doing this is MAKE IT KNOWN. Nothing stops shady practices like bright lights.

Of course, your unusual non-disclosure stance begs the question =>> Why create a new thread detailing a Signing Order [SO] offer?:thought_balloon:

We fellow business owners donate our time on a daily basis to help others avoid pitfalls, answer general questions, provide insights & guidance, etc.

This bears repeating: “name the business entity, so that all Notary Cafe members are forewarned as well please.* Thank You.

A 351 page document packet is not uncommon in Texas. I no longer handle reverse mortgages for this reason.

it was Loan Closers and then they call as if they really didn’t know what going on but they did me like that before but they made up for it. I just couldn’t believe they tried it again.

@lbickham33 Thank You :crown: for helping other members avoid falling into this Pitfall by sharing the Signing Service [SS] name => LOAN CLOSERS. Your efforts benefit all members.

It should be noted that less than 100 of these pages get signed/scanned/returned. A majority of these packages are the Borrowers copies and samples of documents that you merely need to print and leave with them.
