Does anyone know anything about notarizing a regulatory filing form? I’m looking for an example and haven’t been able to find one. It appears to be a form required by the SEC.
Don’t get caught up in the “whats” and “whys” - you’re notarizing…that’s all. You’re acting like the notary public as you are commissioned; the form must be complete, the signer must be in your presence (I usually ask them to please wait til I’m there to sign), you identify them with their current, valid and acceptable form of ID, they sign, date if required and you notarize; if no notarial wording or non-compliant wording, complete one of your loose notary certs and attach it to the form.
