The NNA site states that after January 1st, 2024 Illinois notaries may apply to do electronic notarizations. It says an exam is required, is that available to take yet? Has anyone done the training and passed the exam for it? What’s a good place to start and which technology systems have people used? Looking into them they seem pricey, not sure it’s worth the fees to start up. Thanks!
This may be specific to Illinois. Regardless, you will want to contact the person at the state level who is responsible for notaries I am in Virginia and that person is the Commonwealth Secretary. They will be able to tell you what the requirements are.
