RON Platforms you recommend

Hello Everyone, I am ready to start doing RON’s and have been checking out the different platforms. I’d like as much input as possible, as to ease of use, customer service, tutorials, and cost. Pay as you go would be ok with me and not get sucked into a platform with a $400 a year price tag that’s complicated. Time is valuable, so the less time spent learning a platform the better.
Thanks, Robin

@RobinPaNotary There is much to Research and to become comfortable with regarding providing these types of services.

With that said, here are a few very helpful threads for you to Review. Some are fairly recent & some are a bit more “experienced,” but the information is still Helpful!

.

Also, REMEMBER to perform a Search via the immediately available data found within the TREASURE TROVE in the Notary Cafe database. There are MANY MORE threads available on the topic of Remote Online Notarization(s) [RONs].

Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database that has been generously contributed by your sagacious fellow business owners over the years . . .

To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.

I will say stay away from SignX. They say $299 per year with a per stamp fee. When it is time to sign the documents, the price is MUCH higher. I negotiated a cheaper price per stamp and they tried to hit me with a huge monthly subscription fee. almost $200 per month. I moved on instead.

Hello @RobinPaNotary, I have posted a number of times on the subject of RON. I have been exclusively RON since COVID started. If you are starting out, I would recommend 3 platforms to you. Notarize is my first choice and is the easiest platform to work with and best online support. You also have the option of being an on demand notary or bringing your own electronic notary business onto their platform. If you try them as an on demand notary, the training is free. Their fees are very reasonable and have unlimited use when doing your own business. The other two are OneNotary, which I have used for the past 4 years and is a decent platform, although it is a bit more complicated to work with than Notarize. You are allowed 3 signings or closings per month with fees per use and then are required to pay $25.00 per month plus fees per use. Their tech support is not even close to what you would find at Notarize. The third is BlueNotary which I just signed up to use which seems to have a better fee structure than OneNotary and does have unlimited use. I have not started using BlueNotary yet so I don’t know how their tech support is. One negative to BlueNotary is that their training fees are very steep if you are just starting out and want to be an on demand notary with them but have free videos to help you find your way around their platform if you are experienced. I did find out recently that OneNotary is not an approved platform if you are doing signings for Fidelity National and that is why I looked into BlueNotary for my backup to Notarize. I will be phasing out OneNotary if it proves successful. I needed a second platform as a backup to Notarize because on rare occasions signers cannot pass the identity verification or have their IDs accepted and OneNotary used a different verification database and ID verification so I could still take care of my clients. I hope this helps you in selecting your own RON platform.
