Received a phone call from WePayMore Funding, LLC, requesting my services. They need a document notarized. They sent the document over to me and after reviewing the document, I explained that the document couldn’t have any incomplete lines or fields. Also, their notarial certificate didn’t meet the Florida satuture requirements, missing the “in person or online” verbiage. Those two things need to be addressed for the notarization to occur. I asked if the two blank signature lines for officers were to be signed along with the signer? Because that would be the page that is being notarized. The Pdf he sent over for review was 10 pages and he wanted the last two pages faxed back. That structured settlement was involving around 3/4 of a million dollars. In my mind, red flags were popping up and waving around, due to his sense of urgency of wanting the assignment completed today. He had told me that it was a two page document. Why do people want to get things done so quickly, especially when things are not properly completed? Since I was not willing to accomodate his need for service, he was going to continue calling around to find someone that could. He mentioned that it was hard to find a notary willing to work in Florida’s cold weather. I have my questions about this case…
Is that supposed to read “he couldn’t find anyone willing to work due to the coldness in Florida?”
Also, if a document required to be a split signing, and therefore some of the signatures weren’t present at the time you notarized, you wouldn’t consider that to be an incomplete document, would you?
Time for me to take a walk in the balmy 23°F sunny weather.
