Supplies for Scan back?

Hello I am a newly LSA I had a title company reach out to me for a Signing and asked can I do scan backs. What items are needed to complete a scan back?

You’ll need a scanner and then some way to send those scans to receiving party.

Thank you. One quick question for title signings is there a certain type of paper I would have to print the documents on? or can I print them on regular paper?

Documents are to be printed on (minimum) 20# white paper and printed true to size. In other words, (as an example) you’ll receive a PDF comprised of 140 pages. One page will be 8.5x11 and the next page may be 8.5x14, then those 2 pages are to be printed in those sizes (letter and legal, respectively). You’ll find most packages are of mixed sizes so it really helps to have a dual tray printer. One more thing: printer should be a laser printer, not ink.

Now I have a question for you. Did you have any training prior to setting out on this quest? If so, who trained you?

Also, in what state are you located?

No ma’am, I haven’t had an actual trainer I just did the training thru the NNA. Im located in Florida

For really small page counts the Adobe Scan app for iPhone works great. It saves me from returning to the office when I have small seller/buyer packages under 40 pages. It’s usually the only way I can make same day ship in my region. But I don’t use it for any large refi.

You can purchase an all-n-one laser printer or separate equipment depending on your financial budget. I have been using an all-n-one laser printer that has served me well over the years. Keep in mind before investing to much money, manufactures create their products with plan obsolescence defined: “a policy of producing consumer goods that rapidly become obsolete and so require replacing, achieved by frequent changes in design, termination of the supply of spare parts, and the use of nondurable materials.” You need copy paper, I normally purchase whatever is the best value or on sell, normally I purchase 10 ream boxes of copy paper. Tip: seek out a mentor, it will help shorten your learning curve and quicken your success rate. If you need help, feel free to reach out to me. Good luck ou your journey…

Hi there , So how do you scan it? With the iPhone hold the papers over the phone ?

With Adobe Mobile Scan yes. But I don’t use it for anything very large. And I find a table to do it on. And if it’s absolutely has to be scanned but I don’t want to drive home I’ll scan in several parts so they can be reduced in size. Some of the websites such as Bancserv have size parameters for posting scans. Adobe Scan on iPhone doesn’t get them very small.

I have one tomorrow that wanted a scan before shipping wait to approve and I had to point out service is reduced in my area and I might not be able to ship it same day so I was told to ship it instead of a scan. But I’ve done many for that title company in question.

If you use Adobe Scan you switch out the page before hitting the continue scanning button. Or you get a mess.
