Have yet to received a bad check. I’ve got one invoice that’s outstanding for several hundred I’m waiting for. I’ve had slow pay Title and Signing Services that I no long accept engagements.
No, 80% of my business is direct business. I’m paid mostly by EFT, by invoice, or e check. I rarely work with newer signing services without doing my due diligence. Also when you go direct I rarely need to counter low ball fees, my clients already know my fee schedule.
I had one company this year… NPN that was slow to pay but they eventually did pay when I threatened to complain to the Attorney General.
Your market is different than what we’re seeing where I’m located. There are few Title Companies willing to close on loan not there own. The few TCs we do have already have NSA on staff. Direct business is not as viable and option and others have.
