Here’s a doozy, I accepted and assignment two days ago from ACCREDITED Notary, whom I have worked with for the last 5 years. The order read “Deed signing” now from experience this is a 1-2 page signing. $50.00, yesterday they sent two pages, none a Deed and no notarial cert so I inquired about that. I get a response of docs coming tomorrow!? so this morning at 11:30, Im sent a message along with HELOC docs for 2 signers, in my town. I call, cant get the lady I am familiar with so I email UREGENT, no response so 20 min goes by I call and this time no answer, phone rings off the hook and NO voicemail so all I can do is broadcast message to Notary Dash that E/TO see. I remind them this was a DEED signing on blast for $50. now a HELOC (they increased $25.00). I said your not answering the call or email but under the circumstances its late, I will do this order this one time but not again and to ask they make sure they have the right loan type identified in the future. Now, Im no hero, but I do have integrity and planned to complete in spite of their goof! Im almost done printing and the order gets REMOVED LMAO. How infantile is that, dump it so E/TO dont read about their screw-up. Immediately blast messaged for $75. still appt 1pm so 45 min from now LMFAO now!!! Guess I Pi**ed them off but who cares, sick of the treatment by SSs’ seriously.
In the past, schedulers claimed they didn’t know the type of signing yet still wanted to negotiate fees. I’d make it clear that if the signing that’s negotiated is different from the actual edocs I received, I will call them back to renegotiate. This way they couldn’t falsely claim the signing was a single refi with one signer and 150 pages then email me a reverse mortgage with two 90 year olds that needed a reem of paper. I never had any problems making it clear upfront that my fee is determined by the edocs I actually receive (plus page count and number of signers) and NOT what the scheduler says. It’s just business - I’m not annoyed or bamboozled by their tactics and they’re clear on how I operate.
