Truvada Lawsuit

I’m getting many requests to go to people’s homes who are claimants in the Truvada Lawsuits. They’re requesting up to 3 trips with no notarizations required. I would only need to get signatures from claimants who have been unreachable. Anyone else receiving these requests?

No, but did do one years ago for another Class Action lawsuit, but notarization was involved. What are they offering for this service? Are they paying enough to warrant 3 trips? Or are they paying on a ‘trips needed’ basis? Will you get paid if unsuccessful in obtaining required signatures? Or will they only pay if successful? Lots of questions, but I’d need to know the answers prior to my accepting this type of work.

It’s not enough. They pay $40 for the first trip. The 2nd and 3rd trip pays $25 each. The trip is about 15-20 minutes from me but I’m not interested. Just curious because I’m getting them every few days and haven’t seen anyone mention it here.

I’ve never had one of these yet, but like Arichter, I’m not sure I would accept this type of work without knowing what’s expected per trip. Additionally, they would have to pay more per trip.

I had one last month regarding the J&J talcum lawsuit, same payment scale. Since it was my first, I did it, had to make 2 trips (the 1st was further than the 2nd) and very little effort. I was paid $75…moreover, the experience is invaluable and it adds to your resume…that’s how I look at it.

Hi, I just received one of the Truvada Lawsuit request and I thought it was kind of strange. Now, that I have read Mr. Allen’s comments, I also accepted it because this will be my first if I am selected. It is very close to where I live so making the 2nd and 3rd trips will not be an issue. Thank you for this forum this is valuable information.

Ive done a few for the Talcum lawsuit, Its not worth my time. I spent several trips trying to contact someone then when I did it took an hour and a half to fill out paperwork and get signatures then still only received $50 for the whole thing. I wont accept any more.

Yes I am. But I refuse to do them. I worked at a local credit union and would witness their signing the paperwork.
I’m leary of the requests. If the claimant wanted the money bad enough, they would do what they have to and not put us on a wild goose chase.
They send me requests that are over 2 hours from where I live…

I received several as well for J&J and Truvada. I’ve completed several. A first visit is $40 or $60 and subsequent visits $25.

Yes all the time…Haven’t done a single one. Seems to me the lawsuit should send out a Paralegal for that

I received a call from a Washington company to do a job as well. Same requirements. Advised I could not get ahold of the claimant. They sent me 8 possible contact numbers, Called everyone and reported back to them. One of the numbers they advised WAS A PORN NUMBER!!! I will not work for this company or any other company relating to the Truvada lawsuits. These companies do not keep in mind that in this day and age, if you cannot get a hold of the claimaint and they advise to go to the property address, we are putting ourselves in danger as in this day and age someone could open their door and shoot you with no questions asked. If the docs do not need to be notarized then why hire a notary? Apparently if the claimant is not answering their letters then they do not want to be a part of of the lawsuit. Further, the company that reached to me DOES NOT have good reviews, ie they do not pay.

I am a process server, and for this company to ask notaries without process server experience to basically skip-trace (hunt via phone numbers and other last know addresses, etc) is outside our scope of service.

Plus, the price is way too low for a cumulative three trips with expected skip-tracing, signing, possible notarizing, SCANBACKS, and return services. Don’t care if it’s one page long…this is too much for way too little.

Nope. Was gonna take them and realized it’s a low price for high service. Plus, it unfairly supposes those involved in this lawsuit and the suing subject may have contracted HIV as this is a specific medication for prophylaxis (preventative) and current treatment for HIV.

It’s a complicated lawsuit and is not the way to go about serving and identifying next of kin.

The original job request comes from Captured Investigative Agency. I have no idea who Notaries in Action are but this is really an unusual request for notaries who are not process servers.

(Resources: I’m a former healthcare professional and current process server as well as notary)
