5/13/24 Notary at UPS Bonney Lake WA asked me for my business card again. He had people coming into store and not qualified to provide Notary signings for property transactions. Politely provided my card. I moved to Pierce County WA from Kitsap County WA and experienced UPS Notaries in Kitsap County did not read WA State Notary Laws and attempted to notarize property transactions and they were rejected. Professional Notary experience speaks for itself.
Striking up friendships with the local UPS stores is always good tactics as they often cannot take care of the customers like we can…
There is only 1 UPS store in my city and it has only 1 Notary. When I drop packages there I often see a sign in the Window: “No Notary On Duty Today”.
UPS has my card but a lot of their Notary customers are in a hurry and I’m 15 minutes from the store. The other problem is they walk into UPS expecting to pay $5 per notarization and when I quote my Mobile Notary fee + travel, they complain.
Are you in WA? City in WA named Richland ~ just asking. WA State rates are $10 so curious about $5 fee. When I lived in Kitsap County WA there were 4 UPS stores within 20 mile radius. Often had signs posted “Notary Not Available”. I think you UPS stores try to offer this service and not always able to achieve goal. I supply information page regarding fees to clients with questions about service so fees are not a surprise and so far no complaints. Lot of times UPS stores misplace my business card so I hand out one page information laminated and get more calls from UPS and FedEx stores. Often there is a Starbucks nearby to meet for signings.
I’m in Ohio and it’s $5 per notarization plus an agreed-upon travel fee. I can meet them wherever they wish but I rarely do GNW for less than $50.
