Please be aware, we did a singning in May for Vista National and contacted them for payment but kept getting, “we’ll check with accounting” and to date has never paid the notary fee. We contacted the Title company in Arizona and told them not to use them as they do not pay their notary service provider but the title company did pay them. I have come across a few other online complaints of the same about them.
Thank you from a new notary (me) who is taking these kinds of postings very seriously.
Website is down, numbers disconnected, and a note from another site they’ve closed up shop.
Not sure if using a collection agency at this time may help, but you never know. Good luck.
Hello…I too had a signing in June 2017, and made numerous calls, emails, etc., and as of this date I have yet to receive payment. I spoke with the lender who confirmed that they paid Vista National and it is their job to pay their Notaries. The lender I spoke to took Vista National off of their list.
Who ever used Vista National are all victims . I am going to file a complaint with the State of California. We need ALL Notaries who were Vista National Victims to file complaints and notify ALL of the companies you are registered with about Vista National.
Not paying a Notary for services may fall under the civil category for potential action. But if a large quantity of Notaries come forward with similar stories, we may (emphasis on may) be able to elevate this issue to criminal under Honest Services (18 USC 1346).
At the end of the day, we may not get paid as Notaries (a business loss), at least the people we notarize documents for are taken care of by their lenders and not Vista National.
Good to know. I have been trying to contact them for payment for a signing back in June. Guess I will need to write this one off.
Please be sure that you let the Title Company know that you were not paid either. It’s important that they know this.
Sam here, I did a signing for Rick back in June at that time he seemed so nice and was going on & on about how they are nothing like SnapDocs, just old school emailing no logins blah blah blah. At this point I knew something was up but ignored my gut. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited two months. Now I am going to Contact Old Republic then report him to the BBB.
Since he is in California, does anyone know if the DOC will get involved? Because I would love to report him there as well.
Good luck to everyone else, thank fully it was only a seller package of 25pages.
vista National doesn’t pay… never work for them. it will only cost you time and money.
I am wondering if people, prior to a signing, go to the Signing Central at Notary Rotary, or search the forums there. That place absolutely rocks and is jam-packed with information about signing companies. There you will find numerous discussions on how bad Vista National LLC is.
Here there is a lot of great information on companies, but Notary Rotary has information on the good, not so good, and the downright bad. Vista is downright bad.
As a newer notary and signing agent, Notary Rotary and the forum here are saving me from a lot of heartache and not being paid. In fact, some orders came through a signing service yesterday from a company that does not pay and I hit the option that I do not want to work for them and stated that it’s because they have a reputation for not paying. I also have the option to block them so I don’t get anymore of their signings, which I did.
I did a signing the beginning of June 2017, and communication throughout the signing was really good. As soon as I sent over my invoice, total silence. No response to emails, or phone calls. Then the phone was disconnected, the site went down and I started seeing a repeat of the same story from other Notaries. I called the title company and was told that Vista National was paid right away, at disbursement. It was on the CD for the Notary Fee, and it was my problem to get paid from him. I called the CA Secretary of State, Notary Division, and was told that Richard A. Greenblat’s Notary Commission was suspended in 2007! IMO, that, would be fraud. I did file a complaint with the FTC, and recently received a reply with this statement:
“If you spot a scam, report it at ftc.gov/complaint. Your reports help the FTC and other law enforcement investigate scams and bring crooks to justice.”
It’s one thing to be struggling to pay your Notaries as a Signing Service company, and I will offer grace. Just be honest. But, this seems more like a well thought out hit and run scam. I’ve seen a similar situation with The Notary Spot, and Michael Tomlinson. A whole slew of unpaid Notaries throughout the US, and some, like myself, being paid with checks drawn on an account with insufficient funds. Bad business, and reading history it’s not the first time this has happened with him.
There is a problem, but that means there is a solution.
We had one signing with this firm in May. Also did not get paid and numerous calls did nothing. But we did contact the title company and informed them not to use this agency as they do not pay their notaries. We are in Portland, Oregon.
