What gsm or paper thickness is good for closing documents ?
20# use copy or multiuse paper or whichever is cheapest. Brightness really doesn’t matter either.
Yes, I concur lol
The higher White [light reflection] score, the less prone to jamming your printer. Lower scores usually means the paper is less ‘smooth’ or more abrasive, leaving the first page to grab the next one resulting in a mis-feed or jam.
I use high quality paper. 24# Laser color. It may not matter to title companies but I hate cheap paper. It jams in the printer, jams in the scanner, and sticks together at the table. Much less likely to miss a signature due to pages sticking together. Signers often notice. To me it’s not worth the aggravation of saving a few cents to use crummy paper. But you do you. Title companies generally require 20# or higher. I will not ever use those ‘Sign Here’ things which in my mind look unprofessional.
I analyzed the amount of time needed to unjam my printer and get things restarted and delays to sticky pages was more than offset by higher quality paper.
Maybe it’s the printer. I’ve had lots of printers…all HP…and they have always handled whatever I’ve thrown at them. Paper jams are rare.
I always use the cheapest paper I can get, Walmart / Costco you name it, Never, ever had a jam in 18 years being a Notary / NSA, Maybe I’m Just lucky…
Now that’s a possibility that didn’t come to mind. Most of the NSAs I’ve encountered use the Brother 5200/6200 family of printers. I’ve also got a couple of Epsom printers, one for large format prints. I’ve only used the Brothers for the NSA business.
One other thing that’s really important, both for paper jams & ‘curling’ issues: KEEP THE PAPER DRY. i do have curling after printing when it’s really humid.
