An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a nine-digit number assigned to businesses by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). EINs used by the US government to track your earnings and taxes.

This number can be used on the W-9 form in place of your Social Security Number (SSN) to help protect your identity.
