I bought it at Best Buy. It was $341.00 That includes both paper trays. You have to purchase the 2nd paper tray separately. It works very well. I also purchased an Epson ES200 Scanner for about $189.00 it
s a great little scanner.
If it has both trays, why did you buy a 2nd tray?
It does not come with 2 trays. You have to buy the second tray separately and they stack together.
Ok… thank you
now I get it
An Brother laser printer drum costs around 110.00/120.00 a brand new laser printer i am talking an HL-L 5200/6200 costs 180.00’s better buy the printer and if you need the drum use the one in the new printer if necessary .
Disagree here - unless you’re talking about a newer, larger model - the drum for my brother MFC is about $25, toner is $12-$15 - Quick Ship Toner - always good products with no issues and, yes they ARE Quick Ship - I keep a spare drum on hand at all times - when I pull it out of the cabinet I order another.
Think you’re thinking of the fuser - and yes, the fuser is just as expensive as the printer - fuser goes might as well get a new printer
You can’t do this job without your own printer. Don’t wait another minute. You are wasting time and money paying Staples to print your jobs.
Welcome to our world Lisa.
I highly recommend you get yourself a printer. The cost of fed ex printing your docs have to eat up at least 1/2 your fee,
I would assume. Investing in a printer was a no brained for me.
I hope you find this useful.
I think long term better to buy your own printer.
How does Notary Rotary PDF page sorter work…help thanks

Thank you for the PDF sorter app recommendation!
You MUST buy a printer and a scanner. If you can’t afford it it, get a different job to save up the money then start this business.
Having my own printer is really working for me. I can’t believe I ever printed at FedEx. But now I see I need to consider a mobile printer. I saw some videos of notarys with printers in their car attacked to a battery. I get job offers with times close together like 5:00pm then 6:30pm etc but I can’t accept because I have to drive all the way home to print. Not enough time.
You use and MFC??? How would that work? I have a Hp 3015 dual tray. There are some awesome deals on these on Ebay. The scanner I use is Brother ADS 3000
Super fast devices,both of them.
I agree. You MUST have the tools for the job. I. Getting a 2nd set to have mobile access there is so much work coming through.
How do you set up your mobile printer? Just curious.
I use a fairly inexpensive hp all in one. It is slow, but works fine. Downside is it only takes about 35vpages at a time. Adding pages under the stack after it starts causes naming. I just for several scans and combine them with a merging program. Overall, the best equipment is quite expensive. I used to have a large commercial size all in one. For the most part it was cheap and flawless to run. Scanned and copied very fast. Chose paper size etc. But not everyone has $3000 and the space for such a machine. Wish I still had it!
You absolutely NEEEEEED to purchase your own duplex printer! You’d save a lot of money over time. This is the primary investment into your business, only second to certification training. Try the Brother HL-L6200DWT on Amazon. Its fast and will automatically select the tray based on paper size. You designate which tray holds Letter and Legal size paper.
A good way to look for a relative inexpensive laser printer is by searching on Facebook Marketplace. This is how I was able to find a backup laser printer for under 150.
I use the Cartridge World business Free program . They provide free printer and service calls are free. They replace the printer when necessary.
You can cancel any time. I have been very happy with this program.

So true! Some days I find myself working so much to market myself and get my name out there that I am tired by appointment time! Running a business by yourself is no joke. You wear all hats! At least at my full time job I have employees to delegate to.
