Why Must I give my gross Revenue

I have done several loan sigings that included one specific lender. Friday I received a request via email to complete an application directly from the lender.

Why must I give them my gross revenue? I was not hired by them. I was hired by the signing companies. I called the person who sent the application to me and dialed the extension that was indicated on the email, but he does not sit at that extension. I am just seeing bells and whistles going off.

I did send the contract to my attorney to review. I have never had any lender ask for that info from me.

I don’t see where that is any business of any hiring party…in fact, IMO this smells off - if you’re doing signings through a service for a lender, why would the lender contact you directly? The chain of command is Lender → Title → Signing Service → Notary.

I would delete the email and not respond. And maybe run it through the service you deal with. Perhaps someone was hacked and it’s a phishing email. But, even if it’s legit - I, personally, would not provide that information - it’s none of their business.
