California notaries

Notary commission expirers in FEB2021 and I have yet to find an open class to take my test with a proctor. I’m flying down to LA next month to walk-in to see if I can (if it’s not filled up) what’s my next step??? It’s averaging three weeks for results and THREE MONTHS for letter to produce new seal??? Executive order by SOS ended in NOV and no new orders are in place…IM a seasoned LSA going on my fourth commission…any advice?

Hello,
Did you look to see if you can take a class online? I believe NNA offers renewal class options online. My commission expired this year in Feb and I took the live class 6 mos in advance. It still took until almost the end of Jan before everything was completed. That was even before this pandemic. Good luck. I hope it all works out for you.

What part of California are you in?

There are LOTS of online classes available.

You don’t have to take the test to get your fingerprints done. If you haven’t done that already, please do so right away. For a list of locations, click this link: https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations

Notary Rotary offers the 3-hour classes too - not sure the price - might check there. But I’ve read there that the processing time is a lot longer than it used to be…just FYI

LET ME BE CLEAR I have taken the classes online via NNA for my commission renewal now I need to take the test with a proctor!!
