I accepted a signing for Cloud Signings back in June of this year. I did a little research on them and sent this email to them:
Hello,
It appears that we have never worked together before. Unfortunately, after performing a quick search on a couple of notary forums, I will need to cancel this signing with Cloud Signings.
I would reconsider if Cloud Signings agrees to pay the signing fee up-front to me today via Deluxe-echecks.
This was one result: https://forum.notarycafe.com/search?q=cloud%20Signings
They removed me from the order without any response back to me at all, and I saw it immediately posted again.
I guess my point is to not be too concerned about accepting an offer from a service that you haven’t worked with. You can ALWAYS remove yourself from the order after you do your research on them.
(Never for $20 though IMO)
I am presently in a similar situation still being within 7 days of the 60 day payment window for a $35 assignment. I reached out to the signing order service which initiated the order request and received a response from Cloudsigning within minutes. Other signing services for the same mortgage company paid out much sooner. So, maybe reach out the signing order service if you haven’t.
I did one for them in 2021 and was paid within a couple of weeks. However I declined all of their signings now as they’re offerings are ridiculous. Unlike snap docs where I can say take me off the list I’m not sure how to do that with signing order but if I could I would
Looking back at my notes, I see that NIA is owned by the same person that owns Prestige Notaries. They require that you send them an invoice. They say that they will pay in 37 days after receiving your invoice. Try jglover@notarydash.com and jennifer@prestigenotaries.com. Also, send a text to Jennifer at 850-266-1501. She won’t answer the phone, so just keep texting her. I hope that helps…
This is what I rec’vd after I completed the job: Hi Theodore! Great work. Thank you for your work on this order. Please make sure your W-9 is uploaded to your profile in Notary Dash. No further action is needed. Payment will issue automatically and electronically to the email address we have on file via checkbook.io. We pay Net 60 days but usually sooner. Thanks and have a great day!
I’ve emailed her a few times. I’m not calling or texting her - it’s her responsibility to pay me per her own schedule…failing that, I’m going to the Washington state attorney general. I don’t have the time nor the patience to indulge her.
I am another victim of Cloud Signings. I have to finally threaten them to get my first check about a month ago. Unfortunately, I accepted 3 other jobs from them in late August because I wasn’t aware yet and now I’m going to have to fight for 3 more. This is the shadiest company ever. Honestly I don’t think they are even operating in the US. I sent a message on BBB website and I wasn’t the first. I will never take a job from them again.
It took 100+ days to get paid from them EACH TIME. Have you been to the NNA site regarding collections yet? If you do a for the company, I believe there’s an email for the accounting department (that only works on weekends, so sending on Thursday or Friday would probably be best.) Good Luck and I would block them once you’re paid.
Hi there,
I don’t know if I’d count on getting those funds. I agreed to do a signing for them (through Signing Order) just this past Tuesday. The signer had to reschedule because he was called out for work, and Cloud Signing did not notify me of this change. I printed 2 sets of docs, prepped (because I’m still fairly new so I flag), then drove to the signer’s house before I found out about the reschedule. It was a big waste of my time and I refused a higher paying job because I had already committed to this one.
When I sent them an email explaining that this was unprofessional, with a bill for the full amount, they went in to Signing Order (after ignoring my email btw…) and changed the “Confirmed Pay” from $100 (that we agreed on), to $20. I do not care that they did not get paid from Title because this was Cloud’s error. They should have to take a loss in these situations. I refuse to work with them again and they can keep their $20 insult. Good luck to you though!
I was told by prestigentoaries not to invoice, but to add a note to the signing you are looking to receive payment on. Every time I add a note, within a couple of days I will receive payment.
This is so unprofessional, but until enough people start to put in writing about their business practice, they will continue to act this way. I’m assuming they are banking on “NEW” notaries for all their singings.
I feel you… There was one time I almost took one singing from this company, and it showed they take 60 days to pay, I said no Thank you, and put them on my NOPE list.
So, I am owed for 2 closings from early August - I filed a complaint with State of Pennsylvania (via website) over nonpayment - perhaps all notaries that are owed money from this Company should do the same. Maybe if the State of PA receives enough complaints, an investigation will be opened, and the State will suspend their license until a thorough investigation has been completed.
@mobilenotaryinohio – Agree that all victims of this company should file a complaint with the Attorney General of their state for theft of services.
Insofar as “and the State will suspend their license …” What license? Most of these signing services are not licensed nor regulated – except perhaps for LLC/corporation requirements.
Title companies are licensed and governed by their state’s department of insurance (or some similar agency). If a title company doesn’t pay, a complaint can be filed with said agency and that title company’s license can be affected (suspension/revocation). The same for attorneys – licensed and regulated by their state’s BAR association with same ramifications for complaints.
This is why some of us seasoned NSAs keep harping on working direct – besides better pay, we have more of a safety net. Don’t get me wrong. There are some good, ethical signing services out there. Finding them and getting into their database is usually not a simple task.
I accepted two from them- about a month apart. I did a search here after not receiving payment in a timely manner. Through this forum I was able to get more contact information. They did reach out to me and said that they only pay on the weekends after the 60th day. For the first order I did receive it late Sunday night after the 60th day. But for the second one I did not receive payment by the weekend it was expected. They’re only communication to me was that the accounting department only works weekends. I had zero response to my emails and my phone calls. I keep notes of the title/lender contact information for every closing I do. So I reached out to the title company. BOOM! I was paid the next weekend, late Sunday night. The next week I received a text message from Cloud Signings. They had been contacted by the title company and were upset that I had contacted and told the title company that they needed to stop working with Cloud Signings because they had a horrible reputation for not compensating their notaries and that we as a whole are going to band together and not accept assignments from them. I informed Cloud Signings how unprofessional they are regarding non-communication and delayed/non-payment. Their response was that they would remove me from their platform. My response was they were doing me a favor because I would not accept from them anyway.
