So I have done work for a few signing services and they always paid in 30 days from the signing. I guess the question is I can ask to be paid sooner?
You can counter them thats what I did and they accepted my counter and I will never accept 20.00 from them or anyone else I will always counter their offer. N3 Notary does the same thing and I counter them all before I just stopped because the jobs they offer was ridiculous they have no concept of conducting business nor understand the geographic area they are booking for.
I accepted one at some point, but for some reason I had a gut feeling about them. I just emailed them to reassign the closing. Oh that was a good thing I did, they pay every 60 days. I guess they think we don’t have bills to pay.
I appreciate all the wisdom here. I only accepted the offer because it was close, only a few pages, and the total time spent was about an hour. But, I will not accept anything from them going forward.
How do you block a company?
It’s been awhile since I’ve had to block one, but when you get an order, you should be able to respond I don’t want to work with XYZ company.
vickie.ridley,
I would do it! You are a SPECIALIZED notary and what makes me sick is signing agencies underpaying. I’ve done at least 7 loan modifications and all paid at least $70. Sure, just 15 pages but your time is of the essence. From this point on, I’d refuse the $20 and up that to $70 and see what they say.
When I started out, there were many notaries in my area that felt used by these signing agencies. Abundance is around the corner. What we all need to consider is Loan Signing Agents are of a FEW in the country actually. There are MILLIONS of homes in America but only a handful of specialized notaries. You and your time is more important than $20. A notary I’ve conversed with told me, “Marcus, NEVER leave your home for anything under $50…NEVER!”
Look Luv, I’m not dumping on these agencies but fair is fair. Toner, notary credential, gas to and from, paper…it all adds up! Make the most out of your specialty with a standard in pricing. Also make sure you stand on your pricing with these agencies. You’ll get a greater response when they know you are not desperate.
If Cloud Signings, llc can’t seem to pay you $20 (really??), don’t go back there. I’m kinda surprised at that because anything dealing with loan documents are a priority just as your MONEY!
Take care, keep in touch if you need anything.
Marcus
