Finest Mobile Notary not paying

So, I know there have been other posts about this here but I’m sharing this experience because it seems like all other threads have been closed and I could use some recent advice.

I’m a new notary and I should know better. I should have looked up this Forum before taking the job but I didn’t. I’m in North Georgia, for the record. It was a last minute thing. They wanted a POA done in a hospital. They contacted me at 10:30 and the signing was in the afternoon, and they wanted two witnesses. I rallied, found the witnesses (paid them out of my pocket) and did the job. The 2-3 business days have come and gone and nothing. In fact it’s been a week. I’ve contacted them by e-mail but have not heard back. Any advice? I noticed from the other posts I found (after the fact) in this forum that a lot of people never get paid. Curiously, a small set of people have good things to say about this service. I wonder why. My question is any idea what I could do to still get paid? Thank you!

I did a job for them Oct 23 and got paid Oct 28. It was a signing at a hospital I was asked to scan a copy of what I notarized and I got paid right away.

@juliana Here are some details for that business entity:

Send them an invoice. I always do right after doing the job and I’ve always been paid in about a week.

Thank you for sharing that.

Will do that. Thank you!

You can always tell them you require payment in advance because of the negative reviews you’ve received about their company. I’ve turned down any offers I’ve received from that company, even without knowing their non-payment problem. Their offers just weren’t good enough to accept.

Your signers had to pay Finest up front by credit card. You must follow their billing procedures to the letter if you intend to get paid.

Thank you all who have replied. I’m happy to say I received a check today. I contacted them through SMS after not hearing back by e-mail. I also called their hotline and left a voicemail. They did call me back twice but Google wouldn’t let me pick up the call for some reason. Finally, they sent an e-check this afternoon. I must say I’m relieved.

Well there you go, thanks for updating it.

I did several signings with them and all of them I was paid within 3 days. There was only one I had to send a reminder. I haven’t worked with them much because of what I’ve been seeing here, but more so because they take a HUGE CHUNK of the fees, like an egregious amount, and I won’t accept the low payments anymore. They were decent to cut my teeth on in the beginning of starting my business, but not even worth filler signings anymore.

I have a saying…FUR…FOLLOW UP RELENTLESSLY. Good luck and I hope you’re paid soon.

Glad you got paid. I do not like the fact that they do not respond in a timely manner. I also don’t like that every time they text me with an order, they say they found me online. Do they not know I have done work for them? I know they must respond when a client calls them. Why can’t they respond properly to notaries who work for them?

Do not take any signings that requires you to be responsible for a witness.

Unless you set your fee in first.

If not you are going to lose your money.

If you do provide a witness ask a close friend, grands that are at approximately age to witness or children. Never take on that responsibility

They really do rip us notarys off big time! Found out the hard way, as a new notary got offered $50 for a job, found out they changed the client $225 for! This is the reason I stopped accepting their offered Fee, I tell them i am avalible but I give them MY fee, especially since most of these are last min signings, they have yet to accept it…

Cloud Signings owe me quite a bit of money. I reported them to the Atty General and I received one payment, nothing since. I refuse to do business with them. I sincerely hope you do better with payment than I did.

@wckjc - You may want to do a little search. Cloud Signings is out of business.

@wckjc Sorry to read about your direct experience of invoice non-payment with Cloud Signings.

Thanks to all the [50+] WARNING/ALERT/CAUTION/NON-PAYMENT threads on Cloud Signings, I was fortunate to have NEVER accepted any Signing Orders [SOs] from that business entity.

It cracks me up to read you guys getting upset that the signer paid $225 and you got $50. Do you LSA loan specialists not read the notary fee on a borrowers closing disclosure? You’re working a heck of a lot harder to just get 75% of that $50 signers fee. Regarding Finest, f you don’t follow procedures to the letter you won’t get paid.

The only reason they get to do it is that some of us take those low-ball jobs. If nobody took them, they would have to offer fairer rates and conditions.
