Finest Mobile Notary not paying

I had to follow up with them on my payment, but I was paid right away.

However, my issue with them is that the last two jobs I received from them were a bust. The first one was at a hospital. I called the client when I was on my way (per their instructions) and they told me that I was too late and they had to leave. I shrugged it off as a time zone mistake. This past weekend, I called the client when I was 15 minutes away and the client acted like I was a scam call and pretty much hung up on me.

It cost me money in time and gas. And it was annoying.I’m considering having them remove me from their list.

Has anyone else having this issue? Am I being too whiny?

Are you aware that the client pays for the notary service by credit card up front?

I started to clue into this and that is also why I’ve effectively stopped taking signings from them.

They are not out of business, they just use different names with those same low balling fees

@anecembest: What are their recent names? This information would greatly help all those notaries who think it’s okay to accept low fees and then actually get stuck with NO fee.

I assumed as much. Either way, I’m not accepting a job from them ever again.

Probably a good idea, but what do you think about your signer paying $250 for your services and you only getting $70. And for that $70, you’re doing a heck of a lot more than just showing up on time and notarizing a document and leaving. A whole signing service.industry has been built around that.

Hi, your experience sounds similar to mine. I want to add mine here for the record. Roe from Finest Mobile Notary (FMN) got me to commit to two notarizations. I felt a little put off because I wasn’t contacted through a signing platform but figured it could be different for companies that dealt with general signings and not loan signings. At the 2nd signing I suspected that the bedridden family member (who was present) could have been acting under duress to sign a transfer a property deed and 1 of the witnesses withdrew because of a similar feeling. The family member who hired FMN was upset that he paid FMN all this money and wasn’t getting any documents notarized; there were 4 documents in all. I expended myself to travel there, spend 45 mins dealing with the clients and of course I could not get Roe on the phone or via email to update her and discuss my payment. From the time I got the 2nd voice mail I knew it was a lost cause. When I did a search online I read of the experiences of other notaries.

My question is, has FMN been reported to some regulatory body? Is there a regulatory body for Notary and Loan Signing Companies other the Department of State? How are they still scamming notaries?

As a matter of fact prior to that I received emails from a woman claiming to be from an attorney’s office looking for a mobile notary. What gave her away is the attorney she claimed to work for is in personal injury and the documents she listed to be notarized were loan documents. When I called the attorney’s office she was not employed by them.

That is the downside of having your name & contact information in public facing listings. Is there a document on how to recognize legitimate signing companies?

Thanks for your input.

Hi, what are the procedures to the letter to which you are referring?

@tnefertari You can find that information in the other post I created for you earlier (Search Function) within the very valuable Notary Cafe database.

You can Search utilizing various keywords; i.e., good companies, bad companies, deadbeat, non-payment, etc.
