I completed 3 signings for Coast2Coast Signings (C2C) on Snapdocs in June 2024 at a VERY affordable rate against my better judgment. I was not paid in July and their payment policy does not state anything about NET60 so I emailed them late July asking about the status of my payment. I was ignored by C2C multiple times after sending 3 very professional and polite emails. I finally posted a message on each C2C order in Snapdocs letting them know I will contact the lender/title company directly if I hear nothing from them. The following week I did exactly that. Only after sending a copy of recorded docs and my invoice to each lender/title company did C2C email me my check with no mention of why they ignored me for weeks. I made a point to let those lenders/title companies know that C2C is conducting business practices in a way that harms its partners. I also specifically sent feedback to Snapdocs to make sure its documented Snapdocs is aware that C2C is using their platform to hire people for little to nothing and then ignore them months later when payment is past due. I’ve been a notary for nearly 10 years and this is the first time I have felt compelled to share my experience like this. Hopefully this helps someone else.
@adates Sorry to read about your experience with that business entity.
As you’re a new Notary Cafe member, here is information that you’ll find EXCEEDINGLY HELPFUL with regard to vetting possible clients in the future:
There is immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on myriad topics!
This information is a GOLDMINE!
Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database.
To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.
Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . .
There is no excuse for Coast2Coast signings ignoring my request for payment information after emailing them 4 times to different email addresses and through Snapdocs, months after the signings were completed.
If they are so high volume they can only send out requests and not pay for the work completed they should get out of the business.
Their business practices are unprofessional and unethical, that’s clear to me after viewing many posts on many forums about them and it’s been going on for years unchecked.
Hi Amber, I did a few assignments with them and had to hound them for my payment also. They eventually gave me a check and it bounced. I had to call again and they replaced it and covered my bank fees.
I will never work for a company that id NET60. This is a clear sign they have money management issues.
Anyone that is not being paid and has to chase their payment should definitely contact the lender or title company and make them aware of this problem. If enough people do this, I would think these companies would not want to be a part of it and hopefully stop using their services to find Signing Agent. There is no excuse for this
I did a refi for c2c August 12. Contacted them today about payment. They said they never heard of me. I said about contacting the Attorney General’s Office about their business practices. They said there are multiple companies with that name. I said they should find the imposter and report them. I also said I would spread the word about C2C and never work with them again.
I have never had to remind them, but it takes a while for them to pay. However, when they pay, they tend to pay multiple invoices at once. I have had no problem working with them, the assignments that I’ve gotten with them are really quick and simple. Just don’t expect to be paid in less than 60 days.
I did some research. The Coast2Coast I contacted was NOT the correct C2C. I apologized to them for the error and sent an email to the correct C2C. Waiting for a reply. NOBODY SHOULD TAKE 60 DAYS TO PAY.
I finally got paid after 5 emails for an August invoice. In addition they paid the September job invoice at the same time which was nice. My biggest advice on dealing with slow pay is, don’t lose your cool. Remain professional. Don’t go behind their back to a title company. On my 5th email, I said there is a September invoice I do not want to go through this with. I also stated, you have sent requests for me to handle some out of the way locations where notaries are difficult to find, but it’s hard to consider taking these jobs if payment is going to be an issue. That’s when I got paid. I haven’t blocked receiving offers but I will think about it before I jump on their offers.
Contacting the Title Company over a 3rd party payment issue is a good way to get blackballed by the title company as well as the 3rd party. It’s not about them. It’s about how we are perceived in the industry. The community is not that large. Doesn’t anyone think hiring platforms, title officers and lenders have their own forums where notary behavior is discussed? I will continue to maintain it’s unprofessional to contact any title company over payment. In 4 years, there has been one instance out of several hundred contracts that I got stiffed on. That one went to the Attorney General of Florida. Slow pay is not no pay.
Signing firms have a responsibility to pay according to the vendor/contractor agreement, not when they feel like it.
As I previously stated, if I am not paid by C2C or any other signing firm according the contract/agreement signed I will take whatever steps I feel necessary to get my money, up to and including contacting the title company and lender involved. I do not owe anyone endless kindness and professionalism when I am not afforded the same.
If you feel like taking a less assertive approach, that’s your business, but good luck maintaining positive cashflow as a notary.
Same experience here, C2C only sent payment after I asked if I should contact the escrow company for payment. It took about 2 weeks of daily messaging on the snapdocs platform with them before C2C finally sent payment. I sent an email to Snapdocs asking what they think about companies that do this on their platform? Has anyone here heard a statement from the Snapdocs platform about these shady payment experiences?
