Anyone else accepted jobs from this company? I just had one a couple of weeks ago and they promptly sent an eCheck for payment - through an EMAIL! This didn’t seem legal or legit so I explained all that when I took it to my bank. They still have a hold on the funds, but if it’s returned, $105 will come out of MY account. I’m not ok with that. Seems scammy to me. And I found out they charged the client $250! The $50 was just to add a witness! Ridiculous nickel and diming in my opinion! Supposedly a Bank of America check/account number from them and it had a physical address.
Hi Jenna
I am a signing agent and process server out of Long Island NY. E-Check or deluxe E checks are common in the signing agent industry these days and are usually legit. I’ve done work with finest mobile notary and they have always paid promptly although sometimes it gets lost in email. For any questions on e checks that you or your bank may have please call the number listed on check where you can speak directly to a representative from the deluxe check company.
@jennajacksonrealtor Excellent question!
As a new member to the Notary Cafe forum, you may not have stumbled upon the Search Function yet . . .
There is immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on this business entity.
This information is a GOLDMINE!
Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database.
To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.
I’ve performed a cursory Search on your behalf and here is a thread you may find helpful:

Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . .
I receive e-checks all the time never had one to not clear.
Love eChecks. If you print and take to your bank for deposit, the bank may be hesitant the 1st time…but after that, it’s all good. eChecks don’t bounce.
Hi Jenna, yes the printable eCheck is valid (you could also ask to be paid via Venmo or PayPal) but FNS’s method of getting a customer to pay them $250 for an urgent notarization and then turn around and subcontract that to YOU for just $50 is not so cool.
Here is what is happening: people do a Google search for a mobile notary in their area and the ad for Finest Notary Services pops up in their search results as a SPONSORED LINK – meaning they paid Google for their business appear at the top of the search results even though they may not even be in the same state. So then the customer, believing that they are hiring a local mobile notary, fills out a form and pays FNS’s fee online. Then FNS must scramble to find an actual local mobile notary (you) to perform the notarization for the customer.
FNS might tell you it is a hospital signing and the client already has the documents and so there is nothing for you to print, however FNS requires you to obtain a photocopy of the signer’s drivers license to confirm that the signing did take place and to send that back along with your invoice. They might also tell you it is just ONE DOCUMENT REQUIRING NOTARIZATION, but when you show up in person, you find out the client actually has 2-3 or more documents requiring notarization.
Lawfully in Washington state, if this is me accepting this assignment, I may only charge $15 PER NOTARIZATION plus TRAVEL FEE plus document handling fee If hiring company requires me to obtain a photocopy of the IDs and send back. If it is local for me (meaning less than 20 miles), I would quote FNS a rate of $150 and tell them payment is due immediately after the signing via VENMO and I provide my Venmo link.
I also give the customer my card and the website www.notarycafe.com to find local notaries in the future.
Thank you! I feel much better about it now!
Great info - and yes, I see the whole process now. Just hate to see desperate people taken advantage of with such a high charge. I will charge a reasonable price for my time, but not an exhorbitant amount. I went back to FNS and told them there were actually 3 documents to notarize and they promptly adjusted my pay to $105 ($35 per stamp x 3).
In the future, I will send people to notarycafe.com to find a notary near them.
so glad to hear this! You can understand my hesitation though - seems fake, but I feel better about it now.
And I believe this is what Prestige Notaries/Notary Dash/ and the rest of her companies does - she’s in WA but comes up for MY zip code…in FL
e checks are great. Especially if you can just deposit them with your mobile app on your phone.
I get echecks all the tine and never had an issue with any if them once my bank got use to it.
They’re legit and i get e checks from several companies .
Its a check…deposit it in Your account or cash it
There’s no problem
Yes I have done signings for the finest mobile notary and they pay 3 day after signing is completed via echeck . Since I use a mobile app for banking I print the check and edeposit it. It’s ligit
I get echecks all the time for doing real estate valuations. I’m a licensed broker. I never have any problems. Some send me a printable check which i print and just scan into my account, but most just direct deposit.
Is there a difference between Finest Notary Services and Finest Mobile Notary Services?
I haven’t been paid for a signing in June 2024 from a company called Finest Notary Services. I’ve followed up with them and they say they paid me, only when I log into the echeck platform, there is nothing in my history.
Today I received a text from Finest Mobile Notary Service to do a signing quite a distance away, and I turned it down because I thought it was the same service that had not yet paid me.
I call the bank and confirm account funds can cover before i deposit when something seems hinky to me.
Hi Jenna,
You don’t mention whether the Check was actually a link to the Deluxe e-Checks portal for which you have to create a username and password OR if the check itself was attached to the email. I am thinking the former rather than the later was probably the case. I have been a signing agent since 2020, and I have received numerous e-checks from various clients through an email notifying me that the payment is ready through the Deluxe e-Checks portal. Were I to receive an actual check in my email though, that would be suspicious to me.
I have never had issues cashing the checks at my credit union.
I have at Walmart.
