General Notary Fees?

How much do y’all charge for general notary? excluding notarial charge.

@mtownnotary fees vary by state. In Florida we’re allowed to charge up to $10 per stamp, and $20 for performing marriage ceremonies.

@nadidranotaryservice - here is the Florida statute re marriage ceremonies - I believe the current court fee is $30 - for those courts that are doing marriage ceremonies - many are not.

117.045 Marriages.—A notary public is authorized to solemnize the rites of matrimony. For solemnizing the rites of matrimony, the fee of a notary public may not exceed those provided by law to the clerks of the circuit court for like services.

@LindaH-FL I got my information on the fee for marriage ceremonies from the Governor’s Reference Manual for Notaries https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/notary/ref_manual11-22.pdf

Maybe it’s outdated. Thanks

Well, they did take that down but I loved that handbook - I still refer to it at times but yes, it is outdated. Wish they’d issue an updated one.

What I posted is the current statute. check with your local court to see what they’re allowed to charge - here is my county, Columbia County, we can charge $30 as that’s what the court can charge…you’ll have to look at your own county court clerk’s page to see what you can charge.

http://chng.it/rQcRgVjfVf Texas Notaries need an increase in the amount of fees we can charge every other state is allowed to charge more than us that’s why we can’t get out of poverty down here!

Broward county is the same $30.00.
