I was told a good rule of thumb is to hold back 20 to 25% in taxes. My question is, is that per job, monthly, etc.? Should I be holding back more? If this has already been discussed before, I apologize.

I’ve been told the same… to put aside 23-25% of every assignment, that way in tax season I have the money ready for Uncle Sam.
Great, thank you. Nice to know we have been told the same thing.
unc don’t really need it.
True
still we have to give his share
I’m saving 35% so I have plenty for reg taxes and self employment tax. Oh, to add, that’s per job. And, if you’re self-employed, be sure to pay your estimate let quarterly taxes!
