General Notary Work(GNW)
So, Judikidd, I love the idea. But, how much were you earning per month doing it this way?
I negotiated a set fee of $200 for each 2 hour stint from the facilities, which covered notarial acts for any resident. I charged standard fees for guests, relatives, staff or friends.
Can you give us a couple pointers or how to view your webpage for more marketing idea too. Until last week it was a couple a week, now whenever I open someone else is already assigned.
I do loan signings but also regular notarizations like POA, Divorces, Wills and Titles etc…
I work at night and during the weekends and doesn’t interfere with my regular job since I work also from home. I just became a RON also. For me been a Remote and Mobile Notary Signing Agent in a part time basis works great, and provides extra income. Doing this in a full-time basis comes with a risk of not having income coming in when the economy goes down. I think is also a good gig for retired and semi retired people. My point is that as a part time gig I see the ups and down so I can’t imagine depending on this job full-time.
My advise is to advertise in apps like Bark.com and others like that. It works for me.
This was a really good approach. Love this
@signwithmichele Check out the link below to get more GNW.
$127 Laura Biewer Lifetime access to the resources for POA, jail signings, Last Wills and Testaments, adoptions, medical directives, and other types of notary work.
With all the tips in this thread, I don’t see how anyone can justify paying someone $127 to generate general notary work. All the tips are here and a matter of common sense…carry a supply of business cards and give them out freely…everywhere… Hospitals, nursing homes, schools, attorneys offices, advertise in all your profiles what services you are offering…eventually you’ll be All over google
Stop letting people pick your pocket
Excellent source of extra income
Thanks for the tip
@LindaH-FL you are
right
Hey, on GMB page, do you post updates regularly? If so, would that be considered similarly to other social media platforms? Thank you in advance for your time.
I started out in loan signing with my mortgage background and wasn’t a fan either, so I specialized in general notary work. I would say over half of my income was from repeat customers, including attorneys, retirement, assisted living & nursing homes, local businesses and individuals. Besides membership here and notaryrotary, I have free listings at yelp and google. I do not update the google, except for holiday hours. I also have a website and membership at my local chamber of commerce. I built up my business over the last 12 years with professional service and treating all of my clients with respect. I can’t emphasize that enough. I am fortunate to live in CA where the notary rate is $15 per signature. Unfortunately though, like Linda, I wasn’t able to work in 2020 due to the pandemic and I have not yet been vaccinated. Patiently waiting my turn!
That’s a good option, especially when each notarization is $15. I wish my state could raise it to at least $10 each, and not the shameful $2.50
thus I rely more on mortgage loan notarizations.
I totally understand. Notaries across the country are so underpaid for the liability they take on.
I suggest checking out trust signings for attorneys. Maybe you can negotiate a set rate for a signing. After the attorney has gone over the documents, I will assist the clients with where to sign and the proper signature (it can change on deeds vs other docs). I’m also an “extra” eye for clerical errors, which happens more often then you would think. Plus, sometimes the acknowledgement hasn’t been updated per our continually changing laws. You have to be patient, it does take time just like a loan signing. But there’s no printing! Good luck.
PA is $5/ jurat/ acknowledgement- not that great either.
