IPEN closers are requested in my area. Can you help me with what is a fair going rate for IPEN services ?
You asked a good question. May I suggest providing your geographical location. Someone in your local area may have a suggestion for you. Since you used the term “closers”, I am going to have to assume your question is about loan closings. Determining a fair rate will be determined by a number of factors, such as market competition, travel costs, equipment usage, internet usage, allowable state fee for notarial act are just a few considerations. Sometimes, there just isn’t a “quick and easy” answer to some questions. Plus, what someone may feel is a fair price, someone else may feel differently. This may or may not be helpful, what are the traditional loan signing rates in your area? You may consider taking out the costs for paper, ink pens, and printing out of the equation and use that as a starting point.
I’d love to know where you are too. I had IPEN certification for about two years and never had it requested so I let the whole certification go.
I have a few questions, specially to you. Have you completed any IPEN signings? Did you go through Escrow Tab? I’m currently RON certified and I just begun looking into the IPEN because I’ve had several emails requesting services this week. I haven’t completed one myself but from what I read it seems fairly simple. I’m just looking for someone’s personal experience. Thanks!
Yes, I went through EscrowTab about two years ago, did all the training, got the digital certificate, the $750 Microsoft SurfacePro, and didn’t get a single job. It was a complete waste.
Oh, My! I saw how the MS Surface Pro would be an option, but I wouldn’t want to purchase another device when I have a dedicated Samsung Tablet already. Excuse me for being nosey but were you able to do IPEN jobs with another platform? Or have you just decided to stick with traditional GNW and loan signings? Thanks for responding back to me.
I didn’t even try. Just lost my desire to pursue that. A few instructors were bringing these Escrowtab people in to present and then didn’t hear a peep from them. Even when I had questions they were nowhere to be found. EscrowTab also refused to give me a list of companies who use their product. I regret throwing out money on that effort. After the training i never heard another word. Are they still in business?
I’m sorry this happened to you. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I filled out their request for more information a few days ago. The email I received said I should hear from a representative to discuss and learn more. I haven’t heard anything yet. While I’m waiting to hear back I’ve been looking for other companies who may provide the service/training. For 1st place was NNA then here. I’m not sure if they are still in business but their website is still up. Thanks again for the information.
What do you mean by first place? Do you mean that NNA offers IPEN training? The actual training takes about 20 minutes. Or do you mean they offer the digital certificate?
@oduore.notary that in your state, Washington, the provider of the IPEN technology must insure the person asking for a certificate has a Washington notary commission with electronic records endorsement, and if the electronic records endorsement is revoked, the provider must revoke the certificate. I don’t know if you will be able to find a certificate provider that does that. By writing their rules that way, Washington might have prevented IPEN in their state.
Hi, there
Thanks so much for the information! I’m excited to share that I have my Washington electronic records endorsement and have signed up with NotaryHub to handle RON.
I’m currently exploring different IPEN providers and would love to hear from any Signing Agents who have experience with these platforms regarding IPEN signings. If you’ve worked with any of the following, I’d really appreciate your insights:
DocuSign
Notarize
NotaryCam
Pavaso
eNotaryLog
RPost
Secured Signing
OneNotary
Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!

I have found a few of these providers on the MISMO listing. Do you have a preference? I just signed up with EscrowTab, currently being reviewed.
DocuSign is awesome to user friendly.
