Legitimate requests or being scoped out?

A couple of days ago, I got the following email from someone. I just wanted to see what you guys think. I feel like I’m being scoped out by another Notary to see what my response will be. I would be less suspicious if I hadn’t received a different message the same day through my Yelp listing wanting a Notary at a nursing home over an hour away. There was no information as to what they needed a notary for–they just wanted to know my fee. I responded back asking how many/what type of docs but didn’t hear back. When I’ve gotten real GNW requests, the people actually call me. Here’s the other message:

“Hi good evening i saw your notary public ad online and was wondering if you would accept my missouri photo i.d. that is on my phone that is clearly seeable exp. Pic. Date of birth. I.d. number exc is all clear on the pic. I ask because i just got back from North Carolina where i have been doing some subcontract work tarping roofs. And the company i did the jobs for wont release my check until i sign a lein release that they emailed to me that i have printed off and ready to be signed and notorized. Please contact me back at your earliest convenience threw email or call/text thanks”

Nursing home inquiry…probably legit, IME, they never give enough info and are usually most interested in cost and shop around.
The other one…TMI and he is asking you IF you’ll accept an unacceptable ID… hmmm

Shrug off number one - if it comes through, fine. Number two is not an issue - the answer is a flat “no”, regardless who is asking.

Thank you, Ladies. I really appreciate your insight and advice!
