Let's talk websites

Who has a website for their business ? If you do, do you get enough business from it to make the cost worth it? How many people visit vs people that contact you and of those that contact you how many book you?
I have a website and I do generate leads and have gotten active clients from it within the last month but as a business owner I am weighing the overall cost of keeping the website vs the amount of revenue it generates. I feel if it didn’t exist those same leads would most likely contact me via my google business page .
What are your thoughts and experiences with your websites?

@chandie.kent That’s likely an Accurate presumption. :white_check_mark:

Several years ago reached the same crossroads you’re confronted with now . . . :woman_shrugging:

Most clients utilized my website (previously) to validate my professional status, services, etc.

FYI: It wasn’t utilized for scheduling, as client-chosen scheduling wasn’t easily conducive nor realistic for that function, due to the very dynamic nature of our schedules.

The optimum results will be obtained by analyzing the data you have available to you for your business.

Also, perform various Google searches to review how the results appear currently & where your business displays in the existing layout & where your website appears.

You could ask your Hosting Service Provider to temporarily take your website ‘Offline’ to see how the web crawlers & Google analytics respond to its absence.

In my direct experience, I opted to take the website down as the ongoing expenses outweighed the revenue generated.

Website is kind of a weak spot for me. Virtually all my GNW comes from Google (by far, the most), YELP (meh. . .) and the magnetic signs on my SUV. If I’ve ever gotten a lead or job from my website, I am unaware of it. All the rest of my business comes from signing services (I’m signed up with about 180 of 'em), a few escrow companies and lenders I know.

With that said, I keep my website up-to-date and alive because I think more than a few interested parties check me out there and want to see who I am and what I offer and for what fees. I’m willing to pay the minimal expense to have a presence in the internet space.

FWIW.

I struggle with this as July and August I had a few orders come from my website that were quite lucrative for me , and I think it works well for the people who prefer to "contact me " through my website vs a phone call. I am one who prefers written communication vs making calls myself. I know I could save money by binning it but I also know I don’t want to lose money along with putting it in the bin. I agree it’s a great way for people to learn about me and my services as well. I need to do some cost analysis over a years time and see how much revenue I generate from it before making the final decision.
I appreciate my colleagues sharing their experience with me as its valuable information on what is working for others and what is driving consumers to ultimately go ahead and book.

Having a website is part of the Loan Signing System mantra that says you have to in order to make a big income. I’m not convinced myself.

A website (for example, mine) is vital for your ego. However, I believe you could purchase the number one spot on Google with only a phone and an email address on the website and do fine.
