Low Fees & Effects

I am experiencing an increase of fees being decrease. Are these Title Companies & Signing Services not aware that the coast of supplies has increased greatly in the past 14 months. My case of paper was $ 34.00. The last order in February was $ 52.00. The paper sources are now the same price. The toner was $ 189.00 in April 2024. I ordered toner last week. Same toner is now $ 229.00. Nevermid the cost of gasoline. Are they driving all of us out of business?? I have noticed that if you said no 3 times, they will no longer contact you. I have worked for some of these companies for 20 years & you become a name in the pile. Very sad to see this happening.

Yes unfortunately we are all dispensable. The expenses are getting higher and signing fee is getting lower.

You have to hold the line on your fees. I’m consistent with what I charge and most everything is a counter offer. March has been much busier than February I’ve exceeded February numbers with 10 more days to go so while I am as frustrated as everyone I’m seeing more work this month.

@JanaDrury You’re Spot-On with your direct experience observations.

As a fellow business owner/Professional Signing Agent [PSA], I can share that it’s truly critical to regularly monitor the out-of-pocket expenses with the Fee Schedule you’ve created for your region.

You may have already seen the Guideline I created to be of assistance with this task:

YOUR QUERIES:

  • Are these Title Companies & Signing Services not aware that the coast of supplies has increased greatly in the past 14 months.

Yes, they’re aware, but unfortunately some PSAs are accepting the Low-Ball fees even though it’s COSTING THEM MONEY to provide their PSA services

  • Are they driving all of us out of business?? I have noticed that if you said no 3 times, they will no longer contact you.

For all intents & purposes, from a sweeping generalization standpoint, they’re chasing the profit margin. If some will accept Low-ball fees, better for their Profit & Loss [P&L] sheet. Those accepting the Low-Ball fees apparently provide a sufficient group to serve the existing client base in the region for them to chose to no longer reach out for Signing Orders [SOs].

  • You become a name in the pile. Very sad to see this happening.

Concur :100: percent with your assessment.

We must all continue to ensure that the actual out-of-pocket expenses are included in the Fee we charge for our PSA services along with compensation for the time & expertise we contribute to providing those professional services. Monitoring the Return On Investment [ROI] will ensure an ongoing thriving business.
