Before I get into my complaint about this title agency, which I will do in a subsequent reply, has anyone had an experience with Minnesota Insured Title Agency, Inc? The contact there supposedly is a Mary Morris.
I personally have not heard of them .
I have not worked with them and don’t know what OP’s complaint may be. However, here’s some info on them which may help.
Ohio Department of Insurance - Business Entity License Details
The owner appears to be James R. Stein: Minnesota Insured Title, James R Stein, title company in Akron, OH (330) 253-7159 | myHomePro.org
One of the pros of working directly with a title/escrow company is that they are licensed and, if necessary, we can file a complaint with their licensing agency (usually Department of Insurance).
Now I’m curious as to what’s OP’s complaint …
I too am ready to sip some tea
Ok grab your tea or your favorite drink. This is not that interesting but nonetheless…
Back in mid-August I received a call from Minnesota Insured Title Agency out of Akron Ohio to perform a seller’s package notarization. Pretty straight forward except for…
The seller wouldn’t call me back and the title co was insisting that we had this done the next day. I moved things around in anticipation of the appointment. No, call, text or any communication. I called MITA by eod and advised them of this and their reply was let us try. Eventually the client and I spoke. We set up an appointment and I called the client to confirm, and he sounded somewhat out of it. I asked MITA about the guy not returning calls and sounding somewhat intoxicated. One of the reps at MITA commented that the client had been out drinking the night before. Another rep I spoke with said she thought the guy was diabetic or something wacky. I met the guy the next morning, he was alert and able and willing to sign.
I waited well over two weeks after not receiving payment. When I finally called, I was told I just missed a Ms. Mary Morris (my contact) but she (Loretta) could “cut a check from the slush fund” to pay me that day. She even sent me an email with “on it” written after I asked her the status.
One month later they will not take my calls and don’t respond to any form of communication. I looked at some of their financials and it looks like they are weak. Maybe no cash flow. Who knows. They have been advised by letter. v.m, text that I will be notifying the appropriate bureaus. They are members of the BBB and so am I so that’s a starting point. Google reviews and other platforms as well.
My very first failure to pay from a title company! I’m not a virgin any
So, I guess my point regarding MITA, Inc. is if for some obscure reason you do hear from them, take my story under advisement. peace! kk
I’m sorry that happened to you and appreciate you sharing your experience with that entity with all of us. Let us know how the demand letters go.
Wow! So very sorry you’re going through this, Kevin. Please be sure to include filing a complaint with the Ohio Department of Insurance against their license. That usually gets their attention.
Good luck and please let us know how this plays out.
