Before I get into my complaint about this title agency, which I will do in a subsequent reply, has anyone had an experience with Minnesota Insured Title Agency, Inc? The contact there supposedly is a Mary Morris.
I personally have not heard of them .
I have not worked with them and don’t know what OP’s complaint may be. However, here’s some info on them which may help.
Ohio Department of Insurance - Business Entity License Details
The owner appears to be James R. Stein: Minnesota Insured Title, James R Stein, title company in Akron, OH (330) 253-7159 | myHomePro.org
One of the pros of working directly with a title/escrow company is that they are licensed and, if necessary, we can file a complaint with their licensing agency (usually Department of Insurance).
Now I’m curious as to what’s OP’s complaint …
I too am ready to sip some tea ![]()
Ok grab your tea or your favorite drink. This is not that interesting but nonetheless…
Back in mid-August I received a call from Minnesota Insured Title Agency out of Akron Ohio to perform a seller’s package notarization. Pretty straight forward except for…
The seller wouldn’t call me back and the title co was insisting that we had this done the next day. I moved things around in anticipation of the appointment. No, call, text or any communication. I called MITA by eod and advised them of this and their reply was let us try. Eventually the client and I spoke. We set up an appointment and I called the client to confirm, and he sounded somewhat out of it. I asked MITA about the guy not returning calls and sounding somewhat intoxicated. One of the reps at MITA commented that the client had been out drinking the night before. Another rep I spoke with said she thought the guy was diabetic or something wacky. I met the guy the next morning, he was alert and able and willing to sign.
I waited well over two weeks after not receiving payment. When I finally called, I was told I just missed a Ms. Mary Morris (my contact) but she (Loretta) could “cut a check from the slush fund” to pay me that day. She even sent me an email with “on it” written after I asked her the status.
One month later they will not take my calls and don’t respond to any form of communication. I looked at some of their financials and it looks like they are weak. Maybe no cash flow. Who knows. They have been advised by letter. v.m, text that I will be notifying the appropriate bureaus. They are members of the BBB and so am I so that’s a starting point. Google reviews and other platforms as well.
My very first failure to pay from a title company! I’m not a virgin any
So, I guess my point regarding MITA, Inc. is if for some obscure reason you do hear from them, take my story under advisement. peace! kk ![]()
I’m sorry that happened to you and appreciate you sharing your experience with that entity with all of us. Let us know how the demand letters go.
Wow! So very sorry you’re going through this, Kevin. Please be sure to include filing a complaint with the Ohio Department of Insurance against their license. That usually gets their attention.
Good luck and please let us know how this plays out.
Hello Yolicue Thank you for the information. I had nice chat with Mr. James Stein and he personally issued me a check with an additional $ for the trouble. He was extremely accommodating and also expressed worry what was happening in his office. The last email from him was today re: the FedEx tracking # number for the check and him being concerned about he might find in the office. This all started back on 8.28 .25 and supposedly on Monday 10.27.25 I will have a check. I thank you very much for the tip.
peace! kk
@kevin2 – So very glad the information helped! Thanks for coming back with an update.
Hi! Did you ever get your payment? I also did a job for them back in July and sent an invoice, which was confirmed by Mary Morris to have been received, and then I never heard from her again or received payment. I’ve sent her a few emails since then and never received a response. This is my first time placing a complaint on someone and wanted to see if it succeeded on your end. Thank you!
Hi I did get paid. I’m going to give you information about getting paid as well. Call the owner James “Moses” Stein CEO. I got him on the phone on my first try. I went to several measures before I got him on the phone. I complained to the BBB and the Chamber of Commerce of his town. He was very apologetic, but I felt he was instructing his staff to slow pay or don’t pay until they reach him. It seems they run very lean. He is a very interesting person to talk with, I think full of shi* though, but very nice! Payment went out within 1 hr. of our convo. He actually personally delivered the payment via FedEx and even sent me the receipt.330.253.7159. email is moses1952@sbcglobal,net. If you need help, I’ll reach him myself on your behalf. peace! kk Btw. A shout out to the notary yolicue on this forum who gave me his information, thank you again.
Hi Jaz …Best to reach by email. This is the email I received back from him…Greetings Kevin,
Got your emails…Mary and her assistant were out of the office when you called so I left them both a personal note to send you a check for your services plus the late fee of $ 45.00.
I will sit down with both of them tomorrow and see what’s going on. I will let you know what I find out. I appreciate you bringing this issue to my attention.
Best regards,
Jim Stein
Good for you, Kevin! Thank you very much for sharing the update here. I always wonder how things end.
