Like many here, I, too, saw this coming. All I can say is that I am glad that I have spent the last 6 months building up my general notary work and obtaining training in reverse mortgages and commercial loan packages. I may not be earning what I was with loan signings but I am confident I will get there eventually. Like many say, slow and steady. Keep the course.
Like any business, there is going to be ups and downs that is dictated by the economy. The secret is to become astute enough to be able to identify when the dark clouds are building and adjust accordingly.

I agree with you I am doing the exact same thing. I am now RON certified and trying to diversify as much as possible. GNW, LSA, Property Inspection, RON, and coming soon Proctoring. Grass won’t grow under my feet for sure.

So has everyone been slow January and February also or is it just me?

Inflation! It cost more money to live, more money to run a business. This collaterally either makes people more desperate to take lower fee’s. Low income is better than no income (depending on why they are in the game). It forces people to either take the low offers, decline the offer, or drop out of the game until it heats up again.

Proctering is interesting.
Can we please leave politics off this forum? I’ve seen group political discussions - nothing good ever comes of it.
TIA

Well I didn’t know it was so bad that people are trying to find a way to at least eat.
I mean no wonder it’s so competitive in the hiring process ahahahaha
In which hiring process???
People who rely on notary income for their living expenses are now finding it difficult, if not impossible to make it. Don’t you think it’s rough out there? How can you say you didn’t know that? You must be killing it with refi’s then because you’ve stated that GNW is for chumps. I’m having difficulty figuring out your one liner commentaries that offer no insight or help to anyone.

I agree, if you’re dependent on SS jobs, diversify however you can.
If you’re not rural, start marketing in person asap(assuming you want more business)
I’m trying to figure out how hard it actually is out there, I hear on the news people deciding whether to pay bills or eat but I took that with a grain of salt. I’m trying to stay as productive as I can in all of the things that I do.
I appreciate you sharing your insight, especially as a past EO. I agree that the ride may be over.
I agree! I dropped a few goodies of to a couple of title companies in my area. They actually emailed and thanked me for them. Hopefully they continue to use me. I’m just part time but I hope to keep my business afloat;)

I don’t agree with the high cost of gas today.
I’ve actually been busy as a part timer. HELOCS, Sellers and buyers packages all week. I also have 2 RON signings scheduled as well.
