Name Discrepancy passport vs DL vs Loan Docs. S Escrow Docs

Escrow documents have someone with a middle initial K. Loan documents have her name with a C. Her ID is with a C, but she actually goes by the middle initial K.
(Her passport lists K. Her drivers license list C)

I’m not really worried about the documents as much as I’m worried about my notary acknowledgment.
I’m tempted to just do new acknowledgments and just list her first and last name and no middle initial or no middle name. Or notarize both nAmes? :pray:t3:

How would you notarize?

The most important thing for me to do as a notary is to insure that the signer is entitled to use the name, or names, that appear in the notarized document(s). I recognize that people may use variations of their names at the same time. (For example, a woman given the name Jane Smith at birth marries John Doe, and sometimes uses the name Jane Smith, and other times uses Jane Doe.)

But the signer has to explain why they are using two variations of their name, and the explanation has to be convincing. If it isn’t convincing, I don’t know who I’m dealing with, and I’m leaving

Before I even go to the appointment, I’d be contacting whoever hired me and bringing the initials to their attention. If they say they want each document signed the way the name is written in the document, fine. I’l use the passport for documents that use the K, and the other ID for the ones with a C.

The name in my certificate will always exactly match the name in the document. That’s my job, decide if the signer is entitled to use that name, and if so, then document the name in the certificate.
