I am a recent NNA certified loan signing agent. I get new texted assignments sent to me that aren’t too far from where I live (say 20 miles), but some of them range from 40- pages (or more); loan signing company pays $75-80. Just printing out the document / reviewing them takes an hour; then the driving and meeting the client (maybe taking up to 1/2 hour). We don’t get paid for mileage. Then, I go home and scan the signed document / upload to Snapdocs / maybe have to also mail via FedEx or UPS. I have done the math and am confused about what we really earn overall. Am I missing something? Are there things I could be doing to earn something over $20 an hour? Thank you.
Glad to hear you’re doing the math. That’s the ONLY was to know what you should (ALWAYS, these days) counter that meets your profitable fee. It seems to me that most of the platforms start out with a fee that is either a loss or just covers expenses and you’re working for free. For starters, figure out your expenses on printing and auto/time for every zip code you’ll ‘do’. Then add the profit you WANT. Keep it handy.
@chasemobilenotary4 Yes, always let them know Your Fee.

I have a printer that does 35 pages a minute. Print speed is something to look at when you buy your printer. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect to be paid for poor printing speed. Printing documents is part of an assignment. When a package goes over 100 pages you can think about extra fees, but printing is considered part of a fee.
