Question - I know I need to redo my background check but do I also have to retake their notary signing agent exam. There are two options for the background check that I’m interested in. One includes the test one doesn’t. Not sure which I need to do.
That site is hard to navigate. The NNA BGC includes the certification test (which nobody cares about–but do it anyway) and is around $69.
You don’t have to do the NNA exam, but you should know that if you don’t you will not have the NNA Certified stamp next to your name on SigningAgent.com and it places you into a separate category of NSA on that and other sites. Some signing services, title and escrow companies will either only hire or look first for notaries with that “stamp of approval”, and they can filter for those credentials. Do you need it to do this work? NO. But know that it can be an additional slight advantage when you are trying to get recognition as a top certified signing agent.
