Non-Payment The Accident Guys and their signing service

Another learning experience. I was contacted by Andrew Hernandez | (714) 257-5139 of Stream-sign.com who was representing The Accident Guys to handle a signing regarding papers of representation. I had no luck contacting the signer but was told to go to the home and I would be paid, even if the signing did no take place. I never did see or contact the signer and surprise, I was not paid. I would caution you not to do business with companies like this. They are not reputable, as I contacted the Accident Guys but they never responded. Live and learn,.

Worder to the wiser: Unless you know well the service you’re accepting work from, it’s best not to risk accepting an order (especially non-notary) and go to a location to handle paperwork you may not be familiar with (e.g. accident reports, collection orders, legal services, etc.). You might have been set up and find yourself in a lot of trouble.

I did this once, long before I became a notary (I was a bank fraud investigator) and I found myself driving down a one-way street that led to an infamous gang gathering area. I couldn’t get outta there fast enough. :grimacing:

Notaries are exposed to more dangers than we may realize and I ALWAYS check the map and location before I head out as I’m sure most of us do. I take all the appropriate precautions before beginning my trip. And if I see/sense something that may compromise my safety, I report same to the agency that sent me and work out the next steps. Usually, they agree with my wariness and call the order off. Sometimes, I even get paid something for my efforts.

Be safe out there, kids!
