They make sure there are no mistskes …and some bank will fund off scans
But you’re right…the same company was scsn who didnt care 2 years ago
Love it… i have this conversation all the time
I have my regular work and they know im fair …but the other folks…go off a computer with no clue or care
When I get a lot of before and after follow-up from the schedulers I chalk it up to them trying to be diligent and making sure the job gets done. I had a loan officer call soon after I arrived at one location just to let the client know I was coming. They said I already arrived. Same job, the scheduler texted me before and after. I think it was the client who needed extra love in the process and they were ok to give it.
I’m certain everyone has their motivations. I’m suggesting that those actions serve little “useful” purpose. And I personally find them more annoying than helpful. Most of us are on top of the process and we don’t need all those virtual reminders and handholding to get the job done. Our desire to do a reputable job is our incentive and motivation. And when/if we fall a bit short it isn’t because schedulers didn’t provide us enough reminders. We are professionals, after all, not preschoolers.
Very true! Some don’t realize so I just let them do their thing.
I don’t think the schedulers provide the reminders. As it appears, the process is all automated within the software they use. I don’t think they pay attention all the time though. That one signing service that sends reminders an hour before the signing time that your closing status is due, is a prime example of that.
It’s not the reminders per se that I object to, it’s the request for a “status update” an hour before the assignment has started; the status update request that comes exactly one hour from the expected start time of the assignment; the request for ETA of scan backs an hour after the expected close of the signing and the note letting you know that it’s 90 minutes past the start time of the assignment and an update and scans are due. I have actually received phone calls from a breathless scheduler reminding me of the late status report, only to have to remind them that they have set the time for their reminder based on EST and the signing is taking place on PST, and the appointment has not begun. And again, the myriad pages of notes and instructions in the closing packet (which we are expected to print) – all a bit of overkill. Perhaps I am the only person who is bothered by it.
It’s somewhat of an annoyance to me but I usually just ignore it. There are other things that bother me more than useless reminders.
