Lately the offers are ridiculous here. I’m thinking the new notaries are cancelling or something. The fees are ridiculous as well. I’m spending more time responding “not available” than actually working. Just 2 days ago…it’s 5:30. Offer for an area that is 45 minutes away with appointment set for 6:00. I explained that I don’t work that tight a schedule and I would have had to leave 15 minutes ago just to make the appointment. They tried to smooth this with only 175 pages to print and I responded, “printed twice makes 350 pages.” You could hear the gulp that I wasn’t that naive. When they made their $ offer, I snickered and replied I wouldn’t drive out to my mailbox for that. Thanks anyway. It’s getting bad around here. I am seeing a lot of Reverse Mortgages but that’s about it.
Can’t remember where you are. I don’t do many reverse anymore. They are always gigantic and can take forever. I’m still having good luck with counter offers. But notaries seem to be cutting travel in this area.
@cryman.notary Used to make good money on last-minute signings, but now I’m seeing a lot of same-day offers at super low prices, usually via text or email blasts. Used to get phone calls for these types of orders, but that’s gone. I don’t even respond to texts/emails because it an implied agreement to their terms and companies are not being to flexible on negotiations. But hey, I have taken some of those same-day jobs, just not for cheap - $250 minimum, usually closer to $300.

I receive notifications from signing services daily. Unfortunately those assignments are usually for very low fees along with miles greater than 25 or up to 50. Even in my same zip code, I will not complete any type of loan signing for the current fees being quoted.
