Hello, my name is Shari Simpson, I am new to this world i am living in south Florida and it is so hard to get started do anyone know of any signing companies i can start with. i am in need of some help and advice please and thank you.
@tash.shari4 Excellent question! By any chance did you find the immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on this topic?
This information is a GOLDMINE!
Most members express that they find it difficult/NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to locate the Search Function in order to access the wealth of information available within the database.
To be helpful, I’ve inserted an image for you & others [see below] to help members locate it to unlock the wisdom & knowledge of other members on the forums.
What training/certification programs have you successfully completed?
======
I’ve also “tagged” you in several important threads that will prove beneficial to getting you started . . .
Also, there is a plethora of data immediately available on the threads within Notary Cafe.

Accessing the database to locate information about potential clients has saved many of us an inordinate amount of time ‘chasing’ payments for Services professionally provided to potential non-payers . . .
@tash.shari4 There are many scams to be wary of . . .
This is what is meant when we reference that “it’s a very small world” in this business sector.
Someone new can make an inadvertent (or simple) error on their initial few signings and VOILA! Their name is “out for publication” between & among lenders, title/escrow companies [T/ECs], etc. and those individuals are avoided for possible Signing Orders.
Another reason we advocate for ensuring you receive some professional, reliable, & trustworthy training (not YouTube) prior to accepting your initial Signing Order. Just looking out for your successful Business Launch!
As new members seek insights regarding launching their business, a Key Element to Success is providing themselves with an appropriate foundation and undergirding that will serve & support their business.
There are multiple factors to consider:
- What is your background?
- Do you have experience in Real Estate?
- Do you have experience in Mortgage Lending?
- Do you have experience in Banking?
Etc. ad nauseam . . . => just know that you’re launching a business and the onus is upon you to create the best foundation possible from the onset.

My personal experience:
When I initially started performing this work, I successfully completed MULTIPLE training/certification programs including Notary2Pro & NNA and many others. I have extensive experience in skill sets that require certification and recurrent evaluation tests; i.e., I’ve maintained my Project Management Professional [PMP] certification for more than 20 years. So, I understand what it usually entails and the elements that should be included within a comprehensive training program.
Regarding the NNA training specifically, it’s lacking across multiple topics & categories. Many NNA “graduates” choose to take additional training courses elsewhere, because they sense they’re insufficiently prepared. Their primer has errors throughout. Their hotline is less than reliable for accurate responses.
In my experience with undergoing the multiple training programs for certified notary signing agent [CNSA] certification, hands-down without question, Carol Ray’s Notary2Pro training programs are optimum in this industry. I’ve successfully completed ALL of the multiple training/certification programs that Carol offers through her company Notary2Pro. Her programs are thorough & detailed. These also prepare the business owner to operate a business. In addition, she offers Mentoring services. I found those to be excellent & INVALUABLE when I was initially starting out in this business sector. The prices are surprisingly reasonable.
I’ve professionally compared the training/certification programs available at Notary2Pro with the others I’ve successfully completed. The ONLY training/certification program I recommend is Notary2Pro.
A list of companies that hire Notary2Pro graduates (with minimal or no experience) is provided to successful course graduates. => This list is pure GOLD! Study up, refresh your notes, & let Carol know when your initial few signings are scheduled. She is a wonderful mentor & can be on standby in case you encounter difficulties or have questions during your first few signings. She’s the Best! Her support will help you Build your Confidence in providing this service.
In addition, Notary2Pro works diligently to keep this list up-to-date regarding vetting and viability. As we all know, some reliable clients can encounter financial difficulties and that, in turn, can negatively impact CNSAs directly.
Of course, your best bet would be to visit their website at https://www.notary2pro.com/ , research, and make the choices appropriate for your situation. The training programs by Carol Ray are comprehensive & thorough.
P.S. I receive no compensation or remuneration of any type or kind as a result of my first-hand experiential review above.
P.P.S. Unfortunately, Carol passed (February, 2022) from our earthly plane. I hope she Rests In Peace. I’m grateful to have made her acquaintance and studied under her tutelage.

Hi Shari, and welcome to Notary Cafe. Sifting through information can be like drinking from a firehose. To help you narrow your search, here is a link the various categories: Notary Cafe Forums
Keep in mind that rules are different from state to state, so make sure you know the rules for the state you reside. You are going to read info/advice in this forum that will not necessarily apply to you. So don’t take everything you read here as gospel.

My opinion on which signing service to sign up for – make sure they are a legitimate company, first of all. Make sure you agree to their terms. And no signing service should be CHARGING you to sign up with them. If they ask you to join their company for a FEE, that should be a red flag to run away. Good luck!
tash.shari4,
This is the most popular question asked by beginning Notary Public/Signing Agents. What I am about to write may not be the answer you seek or may be redundancy. The real path to success comes from you properly creating a business plan. But you asked for help and advice. That is what I am attempting to provide to you. Please read through this forum and you will find names of companies to sign up. Next step create a lists of companies to market too, you can find the names of title and signing service companies by using search engines like google. It’s going to take hard work, sending out a lot of emails, making a lot of phone calls, and a lot of follow up. Read a few books, such as " $50k to Sign Your Name: A Definitive Guide to Becoming a Mobile" or " Sign and Thrive: How to Make Six Figures As a Mobile Notary and Loan Signing Agent". Next step seek out seasoned Notary Public/Signing Agents in your local area or online to network or even mentorship. Most importantly, approach this endeavor like you purchased a million dollar franchise and you do not have money to lose! Because if you have that type of sense of urgency, you will do everything possible to see it succeed. Oh by the way, here’s some free resources you can find on YouTube for personal and skill development. "Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” study and learn the 13 habits. "Go for No! is a book and a movie by Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz will help you learn how to handle rejection that is essential to understand in building a business. Here’s a tip, go for “no” in your marketing approach, because if you do that the “yes” will come. It’s not enough time or space for me to put everything I know into this post. But I do hope you find a few golden nuggets that we get you on the right path towards achieving your goals and objective. See you at the top and may you prosper beyond your expectations. Keep in touch…
I suggest on YouTube griffin notary. he is very informative . You can buy your states notary primer book as well. everyone else has already given some great advice . remember you’ll get a lot of advice but make sure its compliant to your States notarial law. you can always call or email your SOS too.
@tash.shari4 Since you posed the above query, in order to protect yourself, I’ve listed below a few pages of threads of business entities, signing services [SSs], etc. to AVOID accepting any Signing Orders [SOs] from REGARDLESS of how many times they try to coax you into accepting a SO or how earnestly they ‘promise’ that they’ll pay you . . . DO believe your fellow business owners who have generously shared their direct experience of non-payment.

https://forum.notarycafe.com/search?q=%22avoid%22

As clearly demonstrated by the abundant thread listings above of business entities to NOT take SOs from, it will behoove you to ensure you vet a potential client PRIOR to providing any professional signing agent [PSA] or other services to any of those listed business entities.
======
Also, to expedite your process when fielding inbound calls for your PSA services, DO choose to ADD the non-paying business entities to your Contact List with a coded leading identifier before the company name; i.e., “BAD” “NO!” “NP” for non-payer, etc.
When a call from their number comes in, easy to know whether to Accept it or not.
