So I am a RON, and I keep getting random people who want to “Zoom” ( so they can discuss the paperwork) before doing the RON. Which I am sure is some kind of scam, and I’m wondering if anyone else is getting these texts?
So I have had 3 so far with different scenarios. I am thinking it’s the same person (scammer), as they have been shortly after each other. Please tell me what the scam is if you know. I am so afraid of some naked person on the other side or something like that. LOL
People are so crazy nowadays. Does anyone have this going on??

PS I always said " I am just the notary". I don’t discuss the paperwork and tell them they need to talk with thier attorney and that pretty much shuts them down. Or I say to send paperwork to my email and I will set it up through proof. No responds after that.

I am new to RON, and I have been bombarded with these emails. I have asked them to email me the paperwork and I will set up an appointment through a secure platform. Once I do that I have not heard back at all. Scammers is what my gut tells me.
CLIN (California League of Independent Notaries) just published an article about this scam.
I received that email about 2 weeks ago, and the next day, when I tuned into the TNT call, they were discussing this in great detail. I haven’t missed a session in six years.
