Just a general thought, your feedback is welcome. After dealing with multiple signing services and platforms, the thought of this forum having a rating system available to us would be a very valuable tool. While the topics and discussions are excellent, I feel that we need a rating system much the same as the signing services and platforms have for us that, by the way, are more often than not, not always available and we often don’t know how we are being rated. Thoughts?
At the end of the day, we all make up our own minds about services. I’ve taken jobs from companies that others here say are red flag companies to avoid, that I’ve never had trouble with at all.
I don’t know how valuable it would be given that opinions are not always shared about what makes a great service and what makes a service not so great. JMO.
Rating systems are subject to many biases, impressions, truthful responses, feelings, etc. and no two are alike. There is no way to have all the parties/entities that could rate a notary’s performance to be uniform in their ratings. In this business, one must simply do their best work consistently and be prepared to clarify or defend their work when a less than great rating clouds their reputation. Not an easy task.
I’ve overcome a couple of rough spots by simply calling the Signing Service (or escrow officer) involved and gently and kindly explaining what happened and why I took the action I did. It has always worked out, even if I got dumped by the SS. I do my best and keep my record as clean as I can. What else can I do?
