Great question! I appreciate this thread and reading the various comments.
Superior notary services used me for couple bank work. They charge WAY More and try to get a notary for way less.
I used to Charge $300 for 1/2 day work . Lunch, and Then $300 for next half day.
There is nothing much to do other than stand and observe them breaking into bank lockers. Then observe contents being counted and put into sealed box. Then you go into office and stamp each document for each locker opened. DO NOT ACCEPT per box opening. Quote for time spent in the bank. It takes upto 30 -60 minues or more per locker. Open , Count contents, Seal and then go back office and sign.
Easy job for notary, but you are stuck there all day or multiple days.
Counter with hourly rate. or per opening rate. That seem way to low for your time.
I have done these jobs and gotten $300 a day. When I just started out it was great and a sure thing. However you can’t look at your cell phone - so I missed other jobs for other days. I got hired for several days in a row but the jobs always ended before I was told they would end.
You have to confirm box numbers and witness the inventory of the box and sign the inventory affidavit. It’s not hard and it pays fast.
The banks are phasing out the use of safety deposit boxes, but not all at once.
