Same Day Payments "SHOULD" be the Norm

I received an email today from ServiceLink with an ACH form - they are trying to transition all their vendors to ACH so we can be paid SAME DAY instead of having to wait for a check. How awesome is that. NOTE: Only do ACH with companies you know and trust.

Well dangitall. Apparently yesterday’s email was too good to be true. I received this message which totally nullifies SAME DAY PAYMENTS:
“Hello, I wanted to send a different email because there is some confusion on the wording of my previous email. You will NOT receive pay same day as your closing. You will receive your pay on the actual payment day, in accordance with ServiceLink’s payment schedule, instead of having to wait a few days for your check to come. For example, if pay date is April 1st, with ACH you will receive your payment on April 1st instead of having to wait until the 3rd or 4th for your check. I do apologize for the miscommunication!”

Disappointed but appreciate the clarification. Not sure I would have submitted ACH info had I known it was only going to be a difference of a day or two. Ah well. I still trust ServiceLink.

I’ve done signings with ServiceLink for a few years now. They pay rapidly and the way their payment cycle is set up, it is possible that you will receive payment the following day for a signing you completed a day earlier. Hope this helps with the clarification.

Hi Jo Ann, yes I have also worked with ServiceLink and was familiar with their typical pay schedule. I was commenting on the 2 very different emails I received. The second email cleared it up for me but I appreciate your reply. Thank you! :+1: :grinning:

YESTERDAY’S EMAIL: "Hello, I am reaching out because we show that last month you received payment via check from ServiceLink for your notary work. We are trying to transition all agents to ACH so you are getting payment same day instead of having to wait for a check. I have attached the ACH form to this email. Please fill it out in its entirety, and email it back to [redacted) along with a voided check or letter from your bank to verify the account. IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE THE CHECK OR BANK LETTER YOUR REQUEST CAN NOT BE PROCESSED."

TODAY’S EMAIL: “Hello, I wanted to send a different email because there is some confusion on the wording of my previous email.

Most signings don’t fund immediately, so title doesn’t get paid same day. I’d be very surprised if notaries ever got paid same day.

There are a few companies that pay in 7-10 days when everything funds and that’s nice.

I’m going to say it again as I’ve posted this before - put notaries on the CD as POC (like appraisers are and others) and signers pay us at the table - our job is done at the table, there should be no waiting involved at all. But I know that won’t happen.

The title company is paid once lender funds the transaction(usually same day if it’s not a dry closing). Title then pays the notary or signing service.
There really is no reason to have a net 30+ fee schedule.
