I just started to sign up with them and got an email back saying my fees were too high unless i wanted 65 as apparently thats what other notaries in my area are accepting… kinda seems like their standard spiel to me and i get more than that for MUCH smaller packages. My time, supplies, and insurance costs are worth more than that.
They tell everybody that same line. Just tell them to keep your fees as is.
Thanks for that. As a newbie I learned i could not do that. So glad you fact checked.
They are telling everyone that. I am in Northwest Indiana, and they told me notaries are taking them for $75 in my county; I can’t go below $90 and, especially outside my county. I will make no profit taking low fees.
Its your business, so take the fees your business will support. If you’re busy with direct work, you shouldn’t need to reduce your fees. If you can afford it at $90 take it. It is all about what works best for YOUR business. Don’t worry about what others say. Is it 10 minutes away? Is it an 85 page refi with no copies (like Rocket)? What works for YOU. ![]()
I agree. If your business supports the amount offered, accept the job, I’ve found that the fees vary for different state, counties, and municipalities in NC. At the end of the day, you are the one with your own expenses to pay. Relying on opinions of others will not satisfy your business goals and personal financials.
You’ve got this👍
