I was fortunate enough to start get closings directly from a local title company last year. I only charge them a slight bit more than the fees I receive from the signing agency…$15 to $25 over depending on the distance. Lately, they have canceled 3 signings on me at the last moment, after I printed up both sets of docs. I understand it was probably because of the signer. However, I block out this time and have never canceled on them. They do not pay a print fee, and the last two times, I have had to inquire about the ETA of the docs before they said it was being canceled. Their payments usually come in ok, but a couple here and there I needed to call and email on more than once before the payment was mailed…thoughts anyone…should I continue taking assignments and blocking off my time? should I say something to them?
