Strategy to Reduce the Notaries Importance

Hi Follow Notaries. I just started my notary business back this summer and have noticed some changes. I signed up for Snapdoc to receive notifications of available signings. However, when I get the notifications it will only say what is the time and location - no address, no fee and if there is a fee it is unreasonably low (Refin - 175 pages - scan backs for $70.00) and it wants you to committ= before providing this information. When I’ve asked for a call back to discuss the fee and general inform. - the job turned silent. Furthermore - it seems that I can never get an assignment because it is always taken - even if I call back 10 minutes later. This program seems to make us all so competitive we are taking anything without even knowing the upfront fee. Keep in mind that no one gets paid unless the notarization is done by a notary. We are the most important component of the deal, but they have us competing so desperately for a job they are offering crumbs, because they know that their strategy works. Therefore, I have requested that Snapdoc remove me from this service. What we bring to the table is valuable and we should be compensated, provided appropriate information and treated in that manner.

Odd, because I always get city location with a snapdocs request. They won’t call you I know that. I usually counter depending on location. When I send a counter offer I state why I need more than what they offer. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don’t. Since I can decline anything I’ve never considered deactivating my account. I see more work at better fees elsewhere.

That hasn’t been my experience. I am not looking at my cell phone and email every minute, which appears to me is what you have to do-to even have time to answer the request. I am going to concentrate on providing general mobile notary work tp clients which pays just as well. I don’t really need to do loan signings that bad. I will market title companies directly. I
am done with that snap doc program.

strange the fees and location aren’t showing ups for you. I’m assuming thats on the app on your phone. when and order comes in make sure its scrolling when you scroll on the section that does ( price and info) .Perhaps deleting the app and reinstalling will help? If not I’d suggest calling help or emailing them. They are very detailed in telling you what to do to fix things, Things you are like yeah yeah…but they make the problem nothing in a few clicks. also call but only after I have responded to the blast . if the section on the right isn’t scrolling maybe try a stylus? but those text go out and then out to the next notary within about 15seconds to one minute apart . plus the possibility by the time you get it and can respond its been assigned as too much time passed, this is urgent , how frustrating for you

I have always been quoted a fee on SnapDocs notifications, and have had to ask for more money virtually everytime. I’ve recently noticed an uptick in starting fee quotes as home sales and mortgage markets are improving. I’m also pretty sure that notary availabililty has decreased as the field narrows with drop outs or retirements due to fees not covering time and expenses. Signing services are getting more orders and have fewer notaries willing to accept offers so low. It was not so long ago that were were treated like the professionals we are and not insulted with minimum wage job offers. I’m happy to hear of rejections to low ball offers, because that’s the only way fees will improve.

They are AI generated offers, they aren’t going to call anyone. I like getting paid twice a month so I do a lot of snapdocs work. Many regional title companies use SS because they don’t have full time schedulers anymore.
