Had a quick tax question. Do all the companies you work for send a 1099? Do you just wait for each one?
no - if they didn’t pay you $600 or more during the year they’re not required to send you a 1099 - but you ARE required to claim that amount as income…you should be keeping records of all your income and expenses and relying on that to file your taxes.
That’s right. Thanks, Linda. It’s been a while since I have worked for myself. I do keep records of expenses and income, I just couldn’t recall whether each company was required to send a 1099 regardless of amount. Thanks for your quick reply!
