Always refer to your State Laws/Handbook. From my personal experience, I have asked the same question to both the NNA & my SOS and got 2 different answers. Needless to say, I went with my SOS answer because they’re the ones that can pull my Commission.

@notarymichellea I’ve experienced the identical results (many years ago) that are identified within the excerpt above when I queried in that manner as well.

The notary need not recite or include the SOS text verbatim. The notary can use a substantially similar oath the meets Texas’ legal sufficiency.
Texas wants each signer to have their own “Ack” and “Jurat”. Most Jurats are not with recordable documents. Deeds and Mortgages, DOT are alway acknowledgements.
