Hello
I recently became a loan signing agent!
I am on all the basic signing service platforms.
Are there any specific signing services I should sign up for?
I am located in Coral Springs, FL.
I am on signing order, snap docs, timios, secured signings, etc
If you googled it, I am probably in their database.
Well Collin,
Youāre in the right state for a lot of work. How many times when Iām trying to scrounge up work have I been told, āFlorida is booming with work.ā (Iām in the Attorney State of Georgia~~ different world, Sigh. But once you get the hang of it, and become a preferred notary, itās just what I had hoped for).
Just hang in there, it takes a minute. Folks arenāt calling you a whole lot yet, because they donāt know you; and theyāre working the notaries they already know.
But it will come. It took me about 18-months to make real money~~ again, in an Attorney State.
Two-and-a-half years in now⦠and Iām letting low-ball offers go to newbies.
Meantime, Iām marketing myself to the others who wouldnāt talk to me when I was a newbie. (Yes, keep those files, and go back a year later).
There are plenty of GREAT places that do pay well. They only hold $50, and give the notary the rest. But those are DIRECT⦠and they take time.

@collin Hmmm . . .
To preface this, Iāve been a lurker on these forums for quite some time and Iāve noticed a ton of expectations lately that seem too unrealistic. Iām a NSA out of Michigan and have been one for the past 7 years. I usually pull in at least 8k worth of business every month but it takes a LONG time to get to that point. I see a ton of newer notaries looking to make fast money or expecting SS or TC to come to them over seasoned notaries while they have very little experience.
A few tips that Iād sugā¦
My experience is that same as yours, Al.
Your expectations synopsis is spot on. Itās all about transitions. I liken it to Tarzan swinging through the forest from vine to vine . . . important to have a good grip on your next ālifelineā before letting go of your current one.
The scenario you present (or a similar one) should be a mandatory training component for potential new agents.
Iāve successfully completed the training programs of multiple companies. Most donāt present tā¦
I am just beyond frustrated with this industry. I do this as a part time gig to pay bills, I teach full time, but this industry is just asking for too much and pays too little. They really want me to do a refinance for 100 bucks that has 200 pages and want me to travel there. ALL the signing services are paying less. A refinance no matter how big should be no lower than 100 but these services constantly yelling me te the average is $80. Gas prices in my area are $3+. What idiots are out here doiā¦
Taylor, youāve encapsulated the essence of all the seasoned certified notary signing agents [CNSA] have been sharing for an extended period of time . . . Your assessment is accurate, concise, & reflects the real world view for most regions within the US.
Unfortunately, the āhypeā advertised by some for this business sector seems to outweigh reality for some who watch those ads.
Wishing you the BEST in whatever you choose to pursue for your part-time choice.
@realtydocusigning No, youāre not doing anything āwrong.ā
As with most businesses that are starting out, itās a SLOW process.
In general, most do find building a business within this business sector to be a MARATHON, not a sprint.
Well, that is unless you live in a region that isnāt already saturated with Trained, Certified, & experienced Notary Signing Agents [NSAs] who are also seeking out Signing Orders OR if you have a family member who works at a Title/Escrow Company [T/EC]. ā¦
I concur with the insights of LindaH-FL & mannie1950 (return to the teaching industry).
Also, there are 2 recent posts by CherylM that leave the sugar-coating behind & Tells-It-Like-It-Is . . .
Truly, anyone entering this business sector needs to change their mindset from that of an employee to that of a Business Owner. Itās a completely different paradigm and is managed differently as well.
Best Wishes with your decision.
. . . and this thread (last, but definitely NOT least )
Howās it going for you now?
